Former US President Jimmy Carter has criticised outgoing British Prime Minister Tony Blair for his "blind" support of the war in Iraq.
Mr Carter told the BBC Mr Blair's backing for US President George W Bush had been "apparently subservient".
He said the UK's "almost undeviating" support for "the ill-advised policies of President Bush in Iraq have been a major tragedy for the world".

Anyone remember his original campaign in ‘76? Seems that Carter has come full circle.
The Constitution was amended after Roosevelt’s death to preclude subsequent Presidents from being elected, in their own right, to more than two terms in office. They can serve longer if they finish the term of their immediate predecessor when the latter dies in office.
Even if we accepted carters criticism of Blair (I don’t) Blair was a statesmen and carter was not.
GAD! Talk about an ex-President who will NEVER go away. Shut up, already, Jimmuh.
According to PravdABDNC he is one of the great thinkers of the World. Right up there with algore and co-clinton while Yale and Harvard grad GW is a dunce.

I heard some of his statements on the nearby Upper Michigan radio station this morning. I once more suffered the gloom that comes with the first hand knowledge of what morale means. Had agitators like James Carter been abroad in WW2 in my own native country, I know this. If they did not charge them with sedition, the war effort would be lost. Strikes and riots would have ensued.
Next, came an announcement that it was Armed Forces Tribute week. Then came the old favourites. Glen Miller's "In the mood" and patriotic marching band music.
I felt better- a lot better.

Jimmy is quite an embarassment.
