Triggers in Amnesty Bill Bogus: Grants Illegal Aliens Legal Status Before Triggers are Considered

Grassfire.org President Steve Elliott released the following statement regarding the new Bush-Senate amnesty plan:
"The Bush-Senate Z-Amnesty plan is 100-percent amnesty. It immediately offers legal status to every illegal alien in this country, which by definition is amnesty. It creates a clear path to citizenship and illegals do not even have to "touch back" to their home countries to stay in the U.S. indefinitely.
"In addition, the so-called 'triggers' are bogus and offensive to American citizens. In fact, illegals are granted legal status before triggers are even considered. We know that once the 'camel's nose is in the tent,' there will be no stopping this process, no matter what 'triggers' are included in this bill.
"I am personally outraged and we are already hearing from grassroots Americans who feel betrayed by the President and the Senate. Our team members have already delivered over 792,000 faxes and petitions to Congress opposing amnesty and I anticipate even more outrage in the next few days."
Grassfire.org summary of Bush-Senate amnesty bill:
Creates almost immediate legal status for 12-20 million illegals.
Provides clear three-step path to citizenship for 12-20 million illegals.
Allows current illegals to stay legally in our country indefinitely.
Does not require a "touch back" to obtain Z-visa (only for Green Card app).
Gives illegals healthcare/education benefits and back credit for Social Security wages.
Creates new Temporary Worker "Y-Visa" program with unlimited totals.
Legal status granted to illegals BEFORE TRIGGERS so triggers are meaningless.

And I love the way bureaucracies who can't root out terrorists are suddenly going to be able to screen rent receipts and phone bills. Now they'll flood the country like we've never seen, all claiming to have been here prior to Jan 1 2007. Heck, for all we know, maybe even their sworn declaration will suffice.
Not a single person who supports this travesty, which will destroy America as we have known it, should remain in office.

On one of the news shows yesterday there was an illegal apologist. When asked how these poor illegals would pay the $5000, she explained that they’ll take out loans at banks.

“Gives illegals healthcare/education benefits and back credit for Social Security wages.”
Gee, does that mean that they will pay BACK TAXES for all the undeclared income they accumulated while here for so many years working and NOT paying like the rest of us????

Looks like the guys who produce realistic looking fake drivers licenses and green cards will have to really stretch their skills and print fake electric bills. I'm sure that ICE will call back to every electric company, phone company and leasing agent to verify every document.
Sorry, this is just a very small bone to throw to us to try to appease us.

The Senate leadership is apparently keeping the bill from being published.
Some said that it was around 1000 pages. Someone this morning said it was closer to 300 pages. Either size, apparently no one outside the contingent who put it together knows what is actually in it.

We knew this about Bush when we voted for him... but we didn't expect the entire, Republican party to go along with him. The outcome of the 2006 elections has been devastating for conservatives... and life-threatening to our nation. (see tagline)

The bill number is S 1348. You can look it up
here.
To: mark3681
Does it even have a number yet? It’s coming out on Tuesday, I believe....that’s probably when it’ll get a number.
