Year after year we’ve had borders that aren’t secure and a system that is broken
Year after year we’ve had people dying in the desert because they want a better life for themselves and their families.
Year after year we’ve had millions of people living in fear day after day – worrying that they could be deported like the hundreds of people were in New Bedford.
Year after year we’ve had an underground economy that hurts American workers and abuses hard working families.
Year after year we’ve heard talk about reforming our system. We’ve heard the bumper sticker solutions, the campaign ads, and we know how divisive it is.
We’ll now it is time for action. 2007 is the year we must fix our broken system.
We must strike while the iron is hot – I’ve been around here long enough to know that opportunities like this don’t come often: the American people are demanding a solution, the President is committed, Senator Reid has made this a priority, and Senators from both parties are now determined to solve this crisis.

They wouldn't be dying in the desert if they didn't think they could just walk in to MY country (not yours). You opened the door and have done everything to invite them in. You have obstructed every attempt to make them stay safely in their broken down trash heap of a country that they refuse to fix. Instead, you want them to help you break this one.
Please go for another moonlight drive to the beach. This time, make sure you have your seatbelt on. Tightly. Take Harry and Nancy with you.

Give credit where it is due. Kennedy has almost single-handedly taken the Democrat party from a minority to a permanent majority while turning a war president into a pandering co-conspirator and an overwhelming Republican Senate majority into a compliant Democrat auxillary.
Through his persistence and hard work he has changed the Republicans from a 55% majority into a vanishing replica of the Whigs. Not bad.
A few years back in Canada we saw an overwhelming Conservative majority thrown out of office and reduced to just 2 seats in Parliament.
In 2008 I’ll bet the Republicans will see the same.
I won’t give that commie murderer credit for anything. ever.
