KENNEDY ON IMMIGRATION AGREEMENT
Senator Edward M. Kennedy ^ | May 17, 2007 | Senator Edward M. Kennedy

Posted on 05/17/2007 7:57:11 PM PDT by mdittmar

Year after year we’ve had borders that aren’t secure and a system that is broken

Year after year we’ve had people dying in the desert because they want a better life for themselves and their families.

Year after year we’ve had millions of people living in fear day after day – worrying that they could be deported like the hundreds of people were in New Bedford.

Year after year we’ve had an underground economy that hurts American workers and abuses hard working families.

Year after year we’ve heard talk about reforming our system. We’ve heard the bumper sticker solutions, the campaign ads, and we know how divisive it is.

We’ll now it is time for action. 2007 is the year we must fix our broken system.

We must strike while the iron is hot – I’ve been around here long enough to know that opportunities like this don’t come often: the American people are demanding a solution, the President is committed, Senator Reid has made this a priority, and Senators from both parties are now determined to solve this crisis.

Oh well. It was a nice experiment while it lasted. I just pray historical records last so that the next great republic can learn a lesson from us.

... Year after year we’ve had Teddy Kennedy parking his fat butt in the Senate chambers - he pushed the 1965 Immigration bill through that has given us this mess we are in, and he’s still at it!

Isn’t it amazing how concerned socialist liberals are about illegal Mexicans, and how forgetful and deliberately neglectful they are of the will and security REAL American citizens.

Ever feel like you are being taken for grantid ??

...the President is committed...

Freudian slip? We know that you want him impeached, except then you would get President Cheney.

Mr. Kennedy, hit the road and never return.

When you have a leaky dike the first thing you do is plug the leak. They should do nothing except secure the border. Further money is needed to hire people to deport the aliens. No further laws are needed.

Kennedy is the guy who “broke” the immigration system. He is personally responsible for those people dieing of starvation in the desert.

“Year after year we’ve had millions of people living in fear day after day – worrying that they could be deported like the hundreds of people were in New Bedford.”

As it should be. Criminals should be afraid of getting caught.

Notice he only talks about the poor, hard done by illegals, not the poor Americans. What a %$*&#@.

From 2006

How To Turn The Illegal Immigration Issue Into A Huge Winner For The GOP. Just imagine if the Republicans in the Senate took the same line as the Republicans in the House and pushed a bill that does nothing but secure the border and strengthen our immigration laws. Not only would it be wildly popular, but think of what a fantastic issue it would be for the elections. It would literally put the Democrats in a position where they would feel compelled to vote against securing the border.

Plus, think about the other issues that this would put in play:

-- The GOP would be the party that believes in respecting the law and the Democrats would be the party that believes in rewarding people for breaking the law.

-- The GOP would be the party sticking up for the jobs of poor Americans while the Democrats would be the party that wants to bring in foreigners to take jobs from Americans.

-- The GOP would be the party looking out for the American taxpayers, while the Democrats would be the party that wants to make illegals citizens so they can give them welfare and food stamps.

-- The GOP would be the party that puts Americans first, while Democrats would be the party for people who believe that foreigners should be given a leg up over Americans in America.

All it would take to make this happen would be to split border security and immigration enforcement,

which is extremely popular with people from both parties, from a guest worker/citizenship program, which is incredibly controversial with people in both parties. If the Democrats want to argue that we should leave our borders wide-open while we debate a controversial guest worker program, let them make that argument, but that's certainly not the position that Republicans should be taking.

The GOP should unite behind a simple principle on illegal immigration: "Secure the border and enforce our laws."

The Swimmer broke our immigration system back in 1965 and now he’s trying to destroy the country completely.

The Kennedy family is pure evil w/o ANY socially redeeming value. Now I’m not too sure about the Bushies either.

I heard Michael Savage say tonight that the goal of immigration “reform” is to turn the USA into a country like Mexico with a class of unbelievably wealthy poltroons like the Kennedy’s (and Bushes?), a small middle class, and a large peasant class that serves at the mercy of the poltroons. I think he is absolutely right on this one.

This treasonous amnesty proposal cannot be allowed to pass.

I voted for Jorge Bush in the last two elections. Good thing he can’t run again because he has shown himself to be a complete tool of the internationalist Marxists on this issue. I’m sickened by what he has become (or was he just an especially GOOD liar?).

He’s f’ed up the war in Iraq by allowing the PC crowd to have its way. We should have bombed the Sunni triangle into oblivion a long time ago and saved several thousand American lives.

The Republicrat Party, under his leadership, has abandoned America and its principals for cheap labor and a certainty of enriching the “poltroon class”.

I remember reading after the 11/06 election debacle that Jorge looked forward to dealing with a dhimmiecrat congress on immigration “reform”. I did not believe it then. I sure as HELL believe it now.

Rant over.

Hey Kennedy, year after year we have put up with your drunken BS. I think its time you got alcohol tested and tested for dementia. I think testing all you people in Washington is a great idea.

As for this.... bring millions of people out of the shadows and into the sunshine of America. Well I am not ok with it. Yes... lets bring them out of the shadows and right on to a bus and let them sit in the Mexican sunshine.

Year after year we refused to enforce the existing laws on immigration, until the system was out of control, so in order to get it back under control and bring in 20-30 million more liberal democrats, we have once again given 12-30 million illegal felons amnesty! Made it easier for 30-40 million more to come to America and work, and then become Mexican-americans!

This is what fat ass Kennedy tried so hard NOT to say!
