I want to let you know that this will be my last post on Free Republic (other than responses to this post on this thread).
I made the mistake of reading through a horrific immigration thread, and was about to make the decision to leave for good, but then I posted the Pray for President Bush thread, and was bombarded by anti-Bush posts on that precious thread.
This place is being ruled by a mob, and I cannot, in good conscience, continue to post here. It is not the same place that I joined six years ago. It is not a conservative website. Conservatives think, and process information. They place emotion beneath thought, and always place their love of country ahead of their own personal, ego-driven desires.
As you all know, I am a conservative from the top of my head to the bottom of my feet. I am conservative across the board and down to the depths of my soul.
But I do not belong on this forum. This is no longer a place where thoughtful, pro-life patriots fit in.
I will miss you all, but if you freepmail me (before I am presumably banned), I will let you know how you can reach me.
DrDeb, I tried to hang on for the President, and for you, but the conflict of my ethics relative to the lawlessness of the 'new' FR, have made it impossible.
My best to you all. I LOVE President Bush. We will not see his like again..........and this forum may have a part in making sure no one of his character is ever elected again....

I will continue to post and respect that which President Bush has done well, help him to realize where he can improve, and let him know that he still has FRiends at the Dose.

Oh Man! This is major serious. I didn’t realize so much was going on. Is the current turmoil over Rudy? Or has the DNC unleashed their keyboarders after Freerepublic? If it’s the latter that would be unfortunate. They would love nothing more than to see those who have made a difference from this site to splinter off to other places.
ohio, you will always be a part of this thread. Whether you are here or not, your thoughtfulness and attention to Free Republic will be remembered and honored. It is very sad to lose what we had on this forum, but maybe we just have to be grateful for the years of relative comity on FR.
Maybe we will find each other on another forum. I wonder how much of the vileness is truly coming from one-issue ‘conservatives’ and how much has been sabotage from lefties who want to ruin what they cannot replicate? Either way I guess I will have to be grateful for the years of effort Jim Robinson has given to this site, and leave it at that.
Oh my goodness, ilovew, now you, what’s happening to FR? Why are normal, rational, people leaving or being banned? People have been banned from whom I never saw a cross or hateful word.

I have stayed away from threads that would raise my ire. All of life is full of crazies. FR, when I came upon it in 1998, had a craziness to it because of everything Clinton was doing to put it to the American people. FR had wild arguments, stupid accusations, massive anger, and thousands of truly ignorant people who were also belligerent, just as there are today. I come here for the news and to enjoy interacting with people whose posts stand out to me. I don't have the constitution for the rough and tumble, so I have avoided it.
The craziness created by Clinton passed as the course of time allowed us to clean the excrement from the Oval Office and the things Clinton did to soil the presidency, and the American culture.
I am counting on the same result here. In the interim, conservatives need a place where they can get information and post their thoughts. Just as every unit of society has its crazies and its injustices, so does FR. Wise visitors will be able to sort the wheat and chaff. This forum is widely read by people in every strata of political life and party. I don't understand much about what is going on here, except for this: The place is under attack and I will not abandon ship in this storm. I fully expect that this, too, shall pass, and until then, the conservative cause needs little old me to keep rowing with my one little oar. I believe I must know our enemy and stand to the ranks or risk being run over by those whose ideologies are repugnant to me, and, I believe, detrimental to this nation I love.
that being said, i think Bush could have done more, but God has a reason for everything. I fear Bush is as conservative as we will see again.

I must admit this is about how I feel also lately and have been thinking of leaving also. I will continue to pray for you and your wonderful family.
