Today the President met with the outgoing British Prime Minister Tony Blair and took part in a joint press availability with him at the White House.
He also attended a commissioning ceremony for Joint Reserve Officer Training Corps and made a statement on immigration reform.
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice attended a reception at the British Embassy in Washington on the peace process in Northern Ireland.

Oh my goodness, ilovew, now you, what’s happening to FR? Why are normal, rational, people leaving or being banned? People have been banned from whom I never saw a cross or hateful word.
Please stay on the Dose at least, ohioWfan.
Ah glad to see you’re here. What do you mean by “when your run is over, just admit it’s at its end.”
Hit me: swing1971@gmail.com
I thought you’d stand up and instead you walk away.
Guess I didn’t know you.
I hate to hear that. God bless you both. Hope that all will be well with you.
I have fought for him here nearly every day for six years and been bloodied as few others have, but this is not the same place that I joined, and I don't belong here any more.
There are other places out there that don't allow this kind of hate-filled roughshod attacks against good people. When the hate completely smothers the good, it's time to go.
Please freepmail me, and I will explain further.
I hope they do, Cow. You are a gem, and I love you.
I imagine that quite a few posting here are DU invaders, but the problem is that they are being welcomed by the gang running things who claim to be conservative.
But thoughtfulness has no place where vileness reigns..........whether it be from one-issue ubercons or from their brothers on the far left.
I am grateful for the time I had here as well.
I have stayed away from threads that would raise my ire. All of life is full of crazies. FR, when I came upon it in 1998, had a craziness to it because of everything Clinton was doing to put it to the American people. FR had wild arguments, stupid accusations, massive anger, and thousands of truly ignorant people who were also belligerent, just as there are today. I come here for the news and to enjoy interacting with people whose posts stand out to me. I don't have the constitution for the rough and tumble, so I have avoided it.
The craziness created by Clinton passed as the course of time allowed us to clean the excrement from the Oval Office and the things Clinton did to soil the presidency, and the American culture.
I am counting on the same result here. In the interim, conservatives need a place where they can get information and post their thoughts. Just as every unit of society has its crazies and its injustices, so does FR. Wise visitors will be able to sort the wheat and chaff. This forum is widely read by people in every strata of political life and party. I don't understand much about what is going on here, except for this: The place is under attack and I will not abandon ship in this storm. I fully expect that this, too, shall pass, and until then, the conservative cause needs little old me to keep rowing with my one little oar. I believe I must know our enemy and stand to the ranks or risk being run over by those whose ideologies are repugnant to me, and, I believe, detrimental to this nation I love.
The overrunning of our precious Pray for President Bush thread just pushed me over the edge.
It has abandoned me.
Please freepmail me for where I can be reached. I will continue to lurk to find out how our dear Carrie is progressing.
Your friendship means more to me than you will EVER know.
That thread was invaded by louses today, and it made it very clear that God was leading me away from this forum altogether.
I have been fighting it.......and my husband's wise advice..........for some time now.
It is time to stop fighting.
Bless you, Gretchen. Well said.
I am first a Christian, second a wife and mother, and third a deep conservative.
I have abandoned none of those things.
Our leaving this forum does NOT mean we are walking away from this fight..............only that we will be fighting where those who claim to be on our side don't beat us up as badly as those who claim to be our enemies.
Today's talking point from the DNC: Because some Republicans support the Amnesty Bill, I a long time conservative (fill in Freeper name here)_________ will never vote for a Republican again.
I've seen six or seven of these genius posts already. Never mind that we should support good conservative Republicans who are against this bill.
that being said, i think Bush could have done more, but God has a reason for everything. I fear Bush is as conservative as we will see again.
this world keeps turning more and more liberal no matter how you spin it...
Would that it could be here.
