Are chunks of metal that fire other pieces of metal for the sole purpose of maiming and killing that important to us that we are willing to sacrifice lives?

Is he talking about automobiles?

My gawd, what an incredibly convulted, bass-ackwards exercise in "logic:"

Regardless of what anyone says, this nation was not forged by firearms and blood - it was formed on ideas. And ideas and ideals are what make great nations.

History's despots - from Caesar to Saddam - were not really defeated by weapons, they lost to ideas. You can always take a gun away from someone - Hitler, Stalin and a whole raft of tyrants happily pried guns from their opponents' cold, dead hands.

Hitler was defeated by IDEAS? No, he was defeated by millions of tons of weaponry. The Sovite Union was defeated by the US ARMS RACE.

What you can't take from someone is their mind. That's why ideas, not weapons, are what tyrants fear the most. When Cambodian dictator Pol Pot seized power in the mid-1970s, he killed everyone who wore glasses. To Pol Pot, people with glasses were readers and thus thinkers of ideas. His camps for re-educating the population were about teaching people not to think because to think would mean to formulate ideas that would undermine the dictatorship.

Tyrants seize private weapons. For this numbnuts to even raise Pol Pot as "proof" for his position is the height of absurdity. THAT'S WHAT our nation has always been about - and that's what the Constitution and Declaration of Independence are all about - ideas.

After the first two sentences why would I want to? The author is clinically insane.

Hey crybaby, ask yourself that same question when there's an unknown number of intruders in your house and your phone is out of reach...

It’s so much easier to ban guns, than to find and treat these disaffected people before they go ballistic. Simple solutions for simple minds...

Would Peter care to comment on serial rapists? We get a dose of these evil animals every few years. Would he care to comment about deaths involving ladders in residents across the country every year? How about vehicular deaths? Poisonings?

In his utopian world, there is a medal detector and armed police officer at every public and commercial building and scattered checkpoints around our cities. How else can you stop a nutcase intent on horrific crimes. Should training be required to purchase ant killer chemicals along with frequent surprise inspections in everyone’s homes to keep them safe.

Either you want to live in a free society that gives evil men the freedom to plot and scheme, or you want to be parented in a nanny fashion and have your behavior regulated for your own good.

I ask, how would he suggest we go about preventing someone from plotting and executing a killing spree unless you create a police state?

Liberal logic, I suppose.

If the people of America really wanted firearm controlled like they are in Britain and Australia, then all that is need is a Constitutional Amendment. But since no one has ever called for one, or is there a grounds well of desire to eliminate firearms, then I would conclude that there is no desire on the part of the PEOPLE to regulate guns more than they already are.

Put up or shut up.

Next time someone breaks in my house I’ll just go up to them and say “I have and IDEA, don’t steal from me and get a job”...

On second thought, too much effort, I’ll just snag the Walther...

However, Pol Pots communist minions did not kill millions with ideas. They killed with guns. Commie guns and minions, that can be countered with the arms of freemen and patriots. Those who would disarm us are no different than Pol Pots horde of crazed idealogues. They will slaughter those who disagree with the creation of their utopia. We cannot allow them to take away our last defense against their depradations.

Give to NRA, GOA and state Orgs. If we do not fight the utopians in the halls of congress, we will have to fight them elsewhere.

64,999,987 firearms owners killed no one yesterday.

On the other hand, one big reason the Japanese did not invade the U.S. during WW2 was because they knew that most homes were inhabited by armed citizens.
