My wife and I have sent our condolences to Macel Falwell and her family. Jerry has been a tower of strength on many of the moral issues which have confronted our nation. Liberty University is a magnificent accomplishment and will prove a lasting legacy. Jerrys courage and strength of convictions will be sadly missed in this time of increasing moral relativism. I join with the tens of thousands of his friends to mourn the passing of this extraordinary human being.

Did he ask for money?
RIP
Venom? These people preach conservativism and are really on our side... grow up, wise up and remember who is the real enemy... besides some peoples ignorance.
I didn’t agree with everything Farwell did but he certainly was influential in many areas. Maybe I am wrong, but when a liberal (George Soros, Jesse Jackson, Michael Moore, etc) dies I don’t see me making the comments I saw on newshounds.us about Farwell. And the libs claim we are hateful? Wow, the hate they spew is unreal.
If Robertson were trying to work for the enemy he couldn't do a better job of hurting conservative causes than he already does. Perhaps he's a mole. More likely, just an fool.
Thanks for the good statement, Ossymandus needed that word. A good man is dead and if you are a Christian you know where he went. May his soul rest in peace with God.
Rev.Falwell and the other evangelists who worked with him have been instrumental in slowing the United States’ slide into socialism. I thank them all, despite recognizing that we all are human and are subject to succumbing to sin at times. I thank God for His forgiveness, and for the life of those who strive to do His will.
I respected Falwell, but Robertson is a nut job. You’re the one who needs to “grow up, wise up”. “Conservatives” who claim they can bring down plagues from God on their enemies are not helping us.
Hear, hear. They are bat-s#!t crazy.
The vast majority of believing Christians find Robertson's kind of talk to be kooky and dangerous, not to mention the many conservatives who are of other religions or none at all.
Plus, he's in no position to preach morals to anyone else, thanks to his money-grubbing association with certain bloodthirsty African dictators.
I disagreed with Mr. Falwell's theology and much of his politics, but respected him as a decent human being and a leader of good Christians. I have no such respect for the looney-tunes Pharisee Pat Robertson.

Amen to what you said.
I am not familiar with him saying this. But I do agree we have the authority as Christian to pray against our enemies... it's all thru the old testement. Read for yourself.
However, it doesn't matter because I also believe you can create by your words. You create good or evil... and sometimes just plain boredom... kinda like this posting and apparently this thread.
Pat Robertsons may be a has been in your eyes... (I hate to quote form an old movie) but he's not a "never-was" like some people. Whether you agree or not... it doesn't matter. St Paul said... if they preach the Gospel don't stop them and he was referring to non-Christians and those that may be ignorant... where do you fall in that category?
Thank you for seeing what I was talking about.
You’ve insulted me twice. Very “Christian” of holier-than-thou you. Pat Robertson is a laughable fraud who brings no glory to God and does a disservice to both Christianity and conservativism.
If you’re not aware that Robertson has claimed to bring down disasters on people, you don’t know what he said about New Orleans or other places.
He will be missed dearly. He did wonders for the conservative movement. I hope Paul and Jan Crouch will be able to tow the line.
>If Robertson were trying to work for the enemy he couldn’t do a better job of hurting conservative causes than he already does. Perhaps he’s a mole. More likely, just an (sic) fool.<
Oh dear Heaven. If Pat Robertson was really what you say he is, I wonder where that ranks you!
>If you’re not aware that Robertson has claimed to bring down disasters on people, you don’t know what he said about New Orleans or other places.<
Pat Robertson has NEVER claimed that he brought down disasters. He did say that God, displeased with what the people were up to, did bring down a tsunami in the mid-East just when the homosexuals were convening and using children; and a flood in New Orleans because of the very same reason. Because we condone evil in this country, and commit murder on the innocent unborn, God will remove His favor and protection from this country. He did it in Egypt, and He can do it anywhere. Like it or not, ozzy, God is in control.
I won't argue with you any longer on this since it seems we cannot come to any agreement.
However, because I disagree and see the heart of the man and not the foolish things he may do... that does not make me Very Christian of holier-than-thou you. It makes me human... and we all need to give each other grace.
So continue arguing if you like... you've missed the point of this thread... Pat Robertson's love for his fellow brother in Christ. You just saw him thru your "great-dislike" filled eyes and not thru all the souls he's brought to Christ... and comfort he brings and will bring.
Please no more on this matter... go on to another thread... why bother anymore.
