The ocean around Japan has warmed up faster than elsewhere in the world over the last hundred years partly because of global warming, Japan's Meteorological Agency said on Tuesday.
The sea surface temperature around central, western and southern Japan has climbed by 0.7 to 1.6 degrees Celsius in the last century, far higher than the world average of a 0.5 degree Celsius increase, a survey conducted by the agency showed.

The agency said global warming was partly to blame for the fast rise in the ocean temperature around Japan.
"But the areas surveyed were so small that we cannot say the rise in the water's temperature has been caused entirely by global warming," it said. It did not specify why the ocean around Japan would be more affected than other parts of the world.

Like the Arctic warmed -- In fact the Arctic Ocean warmed so much they were able to do some deep sounding and contour mapping. What they recently found, cracks in the ocean floor spewing ocean warming lava. You never know what you are gong to find under the ice.

There has been a thermometer in the ocean around Japan for 100 years that has been perfectly calibrated the whole time?

More global warming garbage.
Here is the current sea surface temperature anomalies. Nothing special is happening around Japan.
La Nina strengthened again last week however.

And the ocean that used to cover my Colorado home has receeded too. I better buy some of those earth-saving mercury-filled light bulbs.

That’s exactly what I thought. I’d like to have a little more detailed info on the methodology of readings from 1907-1955. Japan was barely industrialized until about 1925, and from then until 1943, weapons were more important than sea temps. From 1944 to 1949, there was probably not a good sampling of readings due to the dislocation caused by DEFEAT.
Scratch the surface of this story and you’ll find it’s overblown.

Pure bunk even. It would be fun to be in a court of law and have the defendents of this pap answer that simple question in the negative and say "No more questions!". Denny Crane!

The water around me is warming up rapidly too. Probably because I’m adding more hot water to the tub. Meyers and coke tastes better this way.
Doesn’t have much to do with global warming, carbon offsets, carbon dioxide, etc.

Is Matt Drudge a closet tree-hugging greeny leftist, or an Art Bell-type doomsdayer kook? He is always showing tons of these stories on his web site, without any counter of stories about the truth of global warming. I thought he was a little more open with running both sides of the story on any issue, but he has little to show for being a tiny bit objective about the global warming hysteria.
