There has been a thermometer in the ocean around Japan for 100 years that has been perfectly calibrated the whole time?

That’s exactly what I thought. I’d like to have a little more detailed info on the methodology of readings from 1907-1955. Japan was barely industrialized until about 1925, and from then until 1943, weapons were more important than sea temps. From 1944 to 1949, there was probably not a good sampling of readings due to the dislocation caused by DEFEAT.

Scratch the surface of this story and you’ll find it’s overblown.

Pure bunk even. It would be fun to be in a court of law and have the defendents of this pap answer that simple question in the negative and say "No more questions!". Denny Crane!
