But I read on FR that Bin Laden has been dead for years? I am so confused!

Didn’t Paul Williams say exactly this 3 years ago, and was ridiculed as a tin foil nut?

We've lost the courage to bomb Mecca, Medina or any other "holy" city.

Fixed. There is moral outrage over putting panties on the heads of terrorists. And forget Heroshima - America, Democrat or Republican, wouldn't have the the political will for even Dresden redux (assuming the responsible nation or nation supporting the responsible group was identified), even if New York was hit with a Big One. Look at the ROE around mosques! In today's political/cultural climate, every hour of WWII would generate a "scandal", speak of "atrocities" and calls for resignations of brass and the arrest of soldiers. And for what? To win an international popularity contest, or to appease the bobble-heads on CNN? Or in a vain attempt to disprove the universal truth that the only humane war is a lost war?

Unfortunately, even if you took all the balls in Washington and combined them into a single pair of frankennuts, there still wouldn't be enough testicular fortitude to even threaten to bomb Mecca (I can think of a few America-first Washington outsiders though...), NYC nuked or not.

I am only thinking hypothetically...

And I want it to be clear that it is just a thought of my own, and for discussion purposes only.

But I’ve often wondered,if it comes down to it, and a nuke is set off in America....

Will some patriotic American, who is sick and tired of all of the politically correct BS, take it upon himself to sacrifice himself for his country, and return the favor, by nuking Mecca, in retaliation for an attack on American soil?

Do you think?

Until these past few years, I never thought America could be ripped apart from within. Now, I have no doubt terrible times lay ahead for all those who cherish Liberty and love our Republic.

Worth repeating.

Success against the left in this country may be more daunting than defeating terrorism abroad. Death to what it means to be an American seems to be enjoyed by both. Why not (?), neither the jihadist nor liberal repspects indidual freedom and liberty. Burkhas of different colors.

Newsmax has a reputation of unreliability, although I can’t remember any specifics.

You've got about 1500 million muslims vs. 300 million Americans. About 5 to 1.

We should be fighting terrorism with terrorism, not on the ground in a police-action going house-to-house in a nation building effort. The only way they'll respect us is for us to become the biggest "terrorist" on the block.

When your enemy respects only power, you shove it down their throat. Call it the "three for one" plan, in honor of our troops currently being held hostage. You'll not only get their respect, but attention, too.

If we piss them off enough, they might even form an army and put on uniforms- making it easier for us to acquire targets.

The only question I have is: How long before they become the world's greatest oil exporters while exploiting other technological advantages that may accrue from a defeat, followed by modern reconstruction (see Japan).

I’d be willing to bet you could scratch off Tehran, Damascus, and the Pakistani tribal territories off the map within an hour of it happening.

Bin Laden is long dead....
But both sides (the Bush Administration AND the Islamonuts) have a vested interest in ‘keeping him alive’, for different reasons.

But I have no doubts that Zawahiri is working very hard on seeing U.S. Cities hit by nuclear devices.

To be honest, I doubt the US would eliminate Mecca...it would be a direct affront to every muslim on earth and not just the 20% or so who are terrorists and the additional 50% or so who are their supporters.

If he’s alive, which I give 50/50 odds that he is, he has wanted to nuke us ever since he learned what a nuke is.

If Al Qaeda takes out Bush with a nuke, they will get Cheney for 8 more years.

Even Al Qaeda is not that dumb.

I read a lot of Mark Steyn but I’ve never read that from him. Must have missed those articles. No wonder I have always liked him.
