More Docs "Fire" Dissenting Patients

Pediatricians are encountering parents who refuse vaccinations for their children, prompting the doctors to show them the door. The problems seem to have heated up since a survey of 302 pediatricians published a year-and-a-half ago in Archives of Pediatric & Adolescent Medicine, in which 28% "said that they would ask the family to seek care elsewhere" for "refusing specific vaccines," and 39% said they would do so for families refusing all vaccines. Increasingly it seems, the pediatricians are following through on their threats, despite the potential for serious revenue loss. Iron Mountain, MI, pediatrician Alexis Wolfe says she has booted three families out of her practice since last fall, and in five other cases has continued to treat specific chronic conditions, while pushing the families to obtain their children's primary care elsewhere.

If you want a sense of just how strong the “germ theory” is in the medical profession, try engaging a physician about the subject of vaccination. It’s pretty much an ideological matter. Vaccination is beneficial, no matter how marginal the disease or how many kids have problems, and non-vaccination is dangerous. End of conversation.

The title is wrong. The docs are “hired” by the patients, so actually the docs are quitting the job the patient wants them to do (or not do).

if you’ve ever spent any time in a hospital and looked at the bills,

then you have no respect for doctors or hospitals or insurance co’s.

My son is 19 and has gotten 6 vaccinations and the boosters. The story says it’s now up to 35. What is going on?

You can thank the illegal immigrants and others who don’t pay for their own health care for the exorbinant fees.

Pedeatricians are for children with chronic diseases such as diabetes etc. All other children go to primary care doctors who do well child work. A great primary is a great family doctor (Thanks Dr. Steve!) and primaries are more openminded.

oh yeah!

big time.

here in socal, a lot of hospitals have gone broke due to illegals going to emergency services for routine health matters.

that said, our hospitals, doctors and insurance co’s are not off the hook.

We should note that 100,000 Americans die every year from medical error. That is more than the about 40,000 that die from car accidents, 16,000 from firearms (all kinds) and 13,000 that die from suicide. (some of the suicides and other causes overlap!)

I am recounting the statistics from memory, but they are pretty close.

It is sad that some greedy John Edwards type lawyers have trumped up frivolous claims about vaccines and as a result, a lot of gullible parents are afraid to get their kids vaccinated.

I can remember when measles and mumps ran through the schools (I had both myself). My great-aunt died as a baby from diphtheria. All that can be prevented now.

Hospitals are not broke from the illegals. They are broke because the State Legislature has passed laws that inflict a form of slavery on medical practioners, ie, that Emergency Rooms must treat anyone that shows up, whether or not the person can pay.

Call the new “Royalty” in DC. They’re playing political games this week with their illegal immigration non-debates. Congress is completely out of touch with the real world. The DC airheads think they’re royalty and untouchable as far as the electorate is concerned. We now have Kings and Queens sitting upon their Congressional thrones. Meanwhile, Americans sleep while their freedoms are being stolen.

that’s correct.

never, never, never underestimate the ego of an m.d.

some very “intelligent” people make stupid decisions.

for example, my neighbor, age 90, had his life shortened last year when a surgeon slipped during a routine gall bladder removal and cut his liver.

law suit? no. the surgeon’s lawyer threatened to sue them and their lawyer backed down. they’re all in bed together, doctors and lawyers.

A professor of mine did Chaos studies on Measels in Baltimore, among other things.

Vaccinations have a great effect in reducing the number of people who get sick from the disease, until the number of people who get sick drops to very low levels. Then people foolishly believe there is no risk, and so do not get vaccinated. This increases the population of unexposed people who will get the disease when exposed.

So, dear friends: Choose which population you wish your children to be counted with. Surviving an epidemic will be rather helpful in the future. Let the conspiracy buffs be those who complain “Someone should have told us!”

A lot of gullible parents are afraid to get their kids vaccinated.

What galls me is they rely on the rest of us to provide the herd immunity that protects their kids. A cousin spent a week in a hospital with croup, for which he'd been vaccinated as a child... but some ill-informed parent(s) hadn't had their kid vaccinated and apparently some childhood vaccinations don't last forever.

agree.

but we live in a state that gives in-state tuition breaks to illegals,

but denies national guardsmen and women the same.

what do we call this? california.

Would you like to tell my sister that her child’s condition is “frivolous”?

He is 23, and was brain damaged at two by a DPT. He regressed, can’t talk, and functions as a toddler.

if you’ve ever spent any time in a hospital and looked at the bills, then you have no respect for doctors or hospitals or insurance co’s.

Tell me how it's the doctor's fault that you have a hospital bill with certain charges on it. The doctor sends a bill that is completely separate from the hospital's bill. He does not establish the hospital's rates.

The docs are “hired” by the patients, so actually the docs are quitting the job the patient wants them to do (or not do).

They may be "hired" by the patients but they pimp for the drug companies.

When Merck fails to get Gardasil legislation watch the second wave of pressure begin as described in the post..."firing" rebelious patients/parents who don't want the promiscuity vaccine.
