Russert hit McCain with a quote McCain made about Somalia in 1993 that is counter to the position McCain takes on Iraq. Then, McCain supported the pull out from Somalia.
Russert is turning on McCain. Hitting McCain about increased security at a photo-op in central Baghdad. Locals said the security was abnormal and only increased because of the photo-op.
McCain defends the security, etc. Says they were there ‘for over an hour’. [Snicker. A whole hour, Senator?]
McCain says he didn’t ask for the protection.
He is doing a good job, really. Sounds confident and focused. (I’m just reporting my impressions.)
