W2K spends too much of it’s time trying to pretend it’s NT.

That's because Windows 2000 is actually Windows NT 5.0. XP is NT 5.1, and 2003 is 5.2. Not sure about Vista.

Vista is NT 6.0

Although some say that Vista is WinME II.
