The D.C. Chapter of FreeRepublic.com invites all Freepers and lurkers in good standing to join us as we observe the Gathering of Eagles' Recruiter Appreciation Day with two events on successive days.
We'll be bringing pizza, sodas and thank you cards to Armed Forces recruiters in Washington, D.C. and Silver Spring, Md.
On Friday, May 18, we'll be at the recruiting center at 1099 14th St., NW, from noon to 1 p.m. The entrance to the recruiting center is on the L St. side of the building.
On Saturday, May 19, we'll be at the Silver Spring, Md., recruiting center at 8202 Georgia Avenue from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Both recruiting centers have been targeted by violent protests in the past year by peace protesters. Please take the time to join us on those days in showing appreciation for the men and women of our Armed Forces. As some of you are surely aware, many recruiters have served in Iraq and Afghanistan. They could sure use our support.
Hope to see you there.

The 18th is a week away. Make it a point to stop in at your local recruiters office.

Didn’t know if you wanted to put this on the DC section of GOE also. (There’s an Eagle who works downtown but I don’t think he’s on the ping list here.)
I may actually be able to go to the Friday one!!!
