TORONTO -- There is an untold story of the war in Iraq -- a story about soldiers who have gone to Canada to avoid going back to Iraq.
Many people think about the Vietnam War draft dodgers when they hear about people heading to Canada to avoid military service, but the soldiers in the Persian Gulf War and the Iraq War are part of an all-volunteer force.
"I signed up before the invasion of Iraq," Corey Glass said in his Toronto apartment. "I joined the National Guard thinking it was a humanitarian organization."
Glass is an Army National Guardsman from Indiana. He said he joined to help people and never expected to end up in Iraq, in Military Intelligence. Glass said his job gave his conscience pause; he filed casualty reports for Army brass.
"I went to Iraq because I was ordered to, like I did what they told me to do, but I started feeling way too wrong about it," Glass told 12 News' Investigative Reporter Colleen Henry. "I could talk to certain people, but I couldn't dig too deep to find out some things, like changes from like civilians being like, killed, to like, so now they're insurgents. How does that change?"
Glass now sits chain-smoking in a Toronto, Canada apartment with other American servicemen who've walked away from war, their way of life and their world.

The article has a poll at the bottom of the page where you can indicate whether you believe war deserters such as the ones shown above are cowards or heroes. FWIW, at the present time, only about 60 percent of the respondents believe they are yellow.
Whichever officer was responsible for assigning a brain with this kind of candlepower to MI should be courtmartialed.
Only in America can you decide to split from military service that you signed up for, go live in another country and in ten years come back...
God forbid should they ever interview any service members who are bravely doing their duty and went to war.
How stupid is this guy?
...and stayed.

Don't make the same mistake as Jimmy Carter. No blanket immunity.

That's what you get for believing the DNC/Kerry line that GW Bush didn't "serve" because he was in the National Guard.
I didn't realize our military accepted mentally retarded enlistees.
He's so stupid that if we had a draft he'd be classified TSTS - too stupid to serve.
We also see that Walcott is a deserter because his assignment in Germany was depressing.
It's not even that they are fleeing combat assignments out of sheer animal fear - they are deserters because they just don't feel like going to work in the morning.
How would you describe soldiers who’ve fled to Canada to avoid war based on their personal views? [Full Story]
Choice Votes Percentage of 516 Votes
Cowards. 319 62%
Heroes. 96 19%
I’m still undecided. 101 20%
That would be the Peace Corps, you numbnut.
Articulate , like, isn't he.
Maybe the fool shoulda joined the Red Cross or the Salvation Army. Calling him stupid is giving him way too much credit.
Hardly much of a shock. The MSM probably had to look long and hard to find them, but find them they did because it fits their agenda. They are probably so few that they aren't even giving a numerical estimate of the number of deserters in Canada.
“”I could talk to certain people, but I couldn’t dig too deep to find out some things, like changes from like civilians being like, killed, to like, so now they’re insurgents. How does that change?”
Good grief...what are they smoking in that apartment?
I’m back in night school, and in my Communications class one of the young baby faced students stated he was missing the next class to travel to Missouri to be reactivated. He signed up for the Marines on a 4+4 enlistment, and still has 2 years eligble reserve left. He’s being reactivated as a Sergeant, and boy did I feel old, he looked like a high school kid. If these two yellow scumbuckets chose to go awol in time of war- no sympathy here. If they couldn’t in good conscience obey their orders, then stand up and take your lumps, defend your position. Or do your duty somehow .. Desmond Moss showed how a peaceful man can serve his country in time of war.( oops I forgot schools now probably don’t even mention him when they talk abut pacifists and war).
Maybe this dupe really beleived Military was klintoon’s pizza delivery service. Me thinks though they have a very very “aged off white” stripe running down back.
