Katrinafying Kansas
Investors Business Daily ^ | 5/9/07

Leadership: Democrats are starting to blame the federal government every time their governors get caught unprepared for natural disasters. Nowhere is that more blatant than in the Greensburg tornado aftermath. Louisiana Gov. Kathleen Blanco blamed the feds after the 2005 hurricane that devastated New Orleans. Now Kansas' Gov. Kathleen Sebelius is doing the same. It's become a pattern: Democrats blaming President Bush for their own lack of disaster preparedness.

They have tornadoes in Kansas? Who knew?

Apparently their governor didn't.

This is so ridiculous. They are going to make it so that soon the President is going to have to stop everything to go quickly and visit a weather torn city. I see that coming soon. Can you imagine the President (I don’t care who for this example) in the war room and suddenly there is a hurricane and he states that he must leave immediately to go and check on the damage and make sure that the state is good to go. Man that is crazy but heading to a government near you.

The Kansas Govenor used the disaster to attack President Bush for no reason and it’s a travesty. Problem is, the Govenor has willing accomplis in the MSM so Bush will have a hard time on this unless someone comes to defend him other than Tony Snow.

The DNC wasted no time in getting this spin out to the media. I would not be at all surprised if Sebelius got a call from Howard Dean within minutes of this happening, to instruct her to blame this on the White House, the Iraq War, etc.

My Democrat Senator (Bill Nelson) was getting in on the act early yesterday, blaming Iraq for any potential equipment shortfall this hurricane season in Florida. Somehow that wasn’t a problem in 2003-2006, but now it is?

I'm hearing a story to that effect on the "Quinn & Rose" show on XM radio this morning.

I’m hearing it too - if it’s true, it’s disgusting and ought to be the end of Howard Dean as party chief. He needs to go break rocks.

Leave it to the Dems to pre-position blame instead of critical supplies.

Small town Kansas doesn’t have any blacks. “Katrina” was all about race, which is why there was no Katrinafying over mainly white towns in Mississippi.
