Raising the CAFE standards means forcing you to drive smaller, cramped cars - which are less safe on the highways. This talk of fuel efficiency is bogus. No - what liberals really want to do is ban your SUVs.

Stupid move. They should have voted to increase gas mileage to 120mpg. They could have solved the gas crisis with a stroke of a pen.

Why not 50 or 500 or 1000 MPG? Just pass a law! It’s that simple.

About the most effecient gasoline internal combustion engine is about 30% to 35%.

To get the fuel economy demanded by law, you would have to go to smaller engine with smaller lightweight cars to get it!

There is virtually no way to increase the efficiency with the engine in its present configuration.

Oh, great. We’re going to attempt (once again) to increase the conservation of a commodity by making it cheaper to use.

While they were at it, they should have passed a law against rain on Mother’s Day.
