There was a very real risk of 5 hearts getting stopped if they didn’t, and a near certainty that 4 would have stopped, given that the mother was already experiencing complications serious enough to require hospitalization at just 15 weeks.
-they should have patiently implanted only two at a time, instead they planned to murder them if the going got rough. They are SICK!

As one poster pointed out above, they knew they were creating life that they would likely have to kill when they chose to implant 4 embryos. Their choice and they chose death. All for selfish reasons.
there is a real risk in all pregnancy. Many women experience complications and require hospitalization.
My mother started to bleed when she was only 3 months along with me and had to be hospitalized.
A good physician will take steps to save all lives involved.
It appears this was used not as a last resort, but as a first resort.
And this is besides the point that it is irresponsible to implant four embryos knowing the risks.
So they say. And they never said what they were and whether or not this procedure took care of those complications. It could have been something as simple as dehydration from morning sickness which would not change with the slaughter of two babies. I simply don’t see how the number of babies makes a difference in a pregnancy at that stage of development.
