$$ FORECASTER KNABB
And so it begins...
But it’s not really a tropical system...it’s a subtropical system that’s interacting with the gulf stream....if it had time, it might get tropical, but it probably won’t.
Non-tropical systems can wreak havoc, produce gale and hurricane type winds (ask New Englanders about this)...but they aren’t driven exactly the same way as tropical storms.
Even though they aren’t tropical, they can really, really put the hurt on the coastal areas, especially with beach erosion.
There’s a wiki about these types of storms:

ping!
Except for the beach erosion expected, we need the rain! Come on over TD #1.
It’s global warming I tell ya!!! We’re doooooommmmmmmeeed!!!!!
Bush’s Fault
What destroyed your community, Mayor?
A NON-TROPICAL LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM...
Paging NN, LOL!
That bugger is causing all the smoke from the brush fires,to cover the Tampa Bay Area!
The smoke & smell is bad enough, I turned off the air conditioning.
lol!
Oh I can hear the MMGW fanatics now. Even though this is NOT a tropical system, their going to call it the first tropical depression, “One of the earliest tropical systems in history”, etc., etc.
Could we possibly get a moratorium issued on that phrase? ;)
I agree. Just as soon as the liberals stop blaming Bush for every little, itsy, bitsy, thing that goes wrong in every corner of our solar system, we should stop also!!
There are a lot of folks in South Georgia and North Florida who would be happy to take the damage from a tropical storm in order to get some rain.
I say we be the “big guys” and stop first.
Florida has lots of fire right now...7 big enough to make the national report...it’s no wonder you’re eating smoke there...
