I like Guiliani. If Thompson does not get into the race I will vote for Guilani or Romney. If Thompson gets in, he will get my vote. If the choices in the 2008 election are Hillary and Guilani, I will not stay home or vote third party. I will vote for Guilani to keep Hillary out of the whitehouse. Hell I would vote for a rock to keep Hillary out.

“Indeed, we still have eight months before the first caucus and primary votes are cast, a lifetime in politics.”

They can say that again, and that’s at the high-end expected survival rate (LOL). He’s yet to figure out his biggest contender is going to be himself. Slow roasting is ok with me. Fred’s not spending a dime and isn’t jumping headfirst into a meat-grinder. Life is good.

The mediots have already anointed Romney their golden RINO now that it's become obvious McCain and Giuliani are hosed.

Two down, one to go.

. . .and don't forget taking a look at his wife. . .

I thing Rudy is a good person; more than competent; and I am grateful he was in charge in NYC. He would make a good 'something' for the next Repub president.

He just is not 'presidential' material. And his wife; has already failed, by every stroke; the 'First Lady' rounds. . .

(is she even a Repub; or like Arnold; is Rudy married to a Demrat? If Judy is a Repub. . .want to know when she changed her registration ;^)

Throughout the call the Giuliani team stressed their candidate’s record as Mayor and his conservative record on taxes, spending, crime and even reducing abortions.

Why is gun control being totally ignored? Nothing about it in the debate the other night. No new position statement from Giuliani. The media totally ignores the issue. And people wonder why I categorically refuse to vote for the man. I'll never vote for a gun grabber and Giuliani is a gun grabber. Hence, he will not get my vote, even if he is the nominee.

Giuliani is banking that the primary will be decided by people evaluating a candidate as “a whole”...

By my lights, Mayor Giuliani is the sorriest excuse for a Republican candidate that I can remember. I don't understand why he doesn't run as a Democrat; on the whole, it appears to me that his stands accord more with the Democrats than with the Republicans.

amid media buzz of Rudy Giuliani’s falling poll numbers

Poll numbers don't just fall by themselves. They have a lot to do with what comes out of the candidate's mouth. Past and present.

“Rudy Giuliani’s falling poll numbers”

Is it too late for the Rudymeister to change parties? He keeps bragging about cross-party support. Test the waters in your familiar environment, Rudy.

I don’t think Rudy has a chance with the right, not just because of his abortion stance, but because of that stance and his stance on the 2nd Amendment.

I still have not figured out how he can claim a woman has a “right” to an abortion but if someone wants to own a gun that’s a privilege and they need to pass a test and get licensed.

If Rudy is going to overlook a right that is explicitly written into the Bill of Rights and the other was thrust upon the country by Judaical decree, what other rights will he overlook and what new "rights" will he find?

Sen. Sam Brownback who recently remarked that Giuliani’s pro-choice views were not a disqualifying factor.

By saying this, Brownback succeeded only in disqualifying himself with me. What a weenie.

"DuHaime invoked both Ronald Reagan (“someone who agrees with me 80% of the time is not my enemy”) and Sen. Sam Brownback who recently remarked that Giuliani’s pro-choice views were not a disqualifying factor."

The Rudy camp sure does like using Reagan's quotes. Amazing since Rudy isn't even close to being a Ronald Reagan in thought or deed.

In the case of the 80% statement, Rudy isn't even 20% conservative, unless they are saying we should elect someone who is 80% liberal. On second thought, given the delusions these liberals live under, they probably do think that.

I thought Rudy's early formula on abortion was to say he'd appoint strict constructionist judges who would overturn Roe and send the issue back to the states where a President wouldn't have to deal with it.

Now, he seems to be backpedaling off that. But, earlier he seemed to support public funding of abortions and now says he favors the Hyde Amendment.

Gotta have a scoreboard to keep track.

They also tried to drive home a simple message: voters should look at Giuliani’s overall record and his electability in the general election. In other words they know he is a liberal and really has little respect for conservative voters but they think he might be able to win so they want us to disregard our conservative beliefs and vote for him anyway. NO THANKS!

The record is that Giuliani is basically a social liberal whose personal and political philosphies are more in line with left wing democrats than with mainstream America.

What he’s trying to do is reconcile his record which his attempt to steal the Republican nomination from a real Republican like Duncan Hunter or Fred Thompson.
