The President and the First lady spent the weekend in Washington.
On Saturday the President went for a bike ride and encouraged fellow Americans to exercise.
On Sunday he talked about the weekend's devastating storms after attending services at Saint John's Church with the First Lady.
Today he welcomed Queen Elizabeth II to the White House during which they inspected the troops and afterwards the Queen and President Bush went on of her customodary walkabouts and met with local school children and students outside the White House.
This evening the President held a State Dinner at the White House in the Queen's honour. As I am posting there is no photos or guest list on the White House website if this is posted shortly I will will post this on the dose.
Enjoy your visit to Sanity Island
Link to website about the British monarchy which apparently the Queen herself insisted that the web needed to used an information tool on the monarchy.
Thank you and thank you for your excellent links as always.
AMEN to THAT!
I think we’ve finally agreed on ONE THING positive the Clinton’s gave us - great china pattern.
Mrs. Roberts’ gown is stunning.
Thanks for that - I had been searching and searching with no luck at all.
Good to see Lynne Cheney’s brother was there that must have been a great honour for him.
No problem we were nearly there :o)
Thank you for posting. Is your Dad home yet?
No that was Friday - dad is coming home tomorrow on his 80th birthday - sorry Dolly thought you knew - I did advise quickly on Friday/Saturday but obviously you missed it.
Did I post a link to it I could not find it if I did it was without being aware LOL
Thank you
My pleasure - sorry it was so late but I wanted to ensure I got some of the State Dinner
Excellent and wonderful thread tonight, snugs. Keeping your dad in my prayers!
I love that color on Laura, but don’t particularly like the shape of the dress. The beaded bolero is pretty, though.
Thanks for posting those additional photos.
Thank you snugs, for a lovely thread. I didn’t get to see any of the dinner on TV, so I was happy to see so many pictures from this evening. Wonderful that you are the one who posted today’s thread. I’m always excited to see Queen Elizabeth. She was crowned the year I graduated from high school. I watched it either on TV or in a movie news reel and was thrilled to be able to see the coronation of a queen. I think she has been a fabulous queen. I admire her steadfast and “proper” manner in performing her duties. She is a true lady and a lovely one. God save the Queen.
I suppose there will be more pictures of the dinner later. Maybe we will wee those tomorrow.
Coming home tomorrow as today was a bank holiday (public holiday) in Britain so arrangements could not be made until tomorrow.
Thank you he is home tomorrow
