In my many conversations with people about the threat that radical Islam poses to the British way of life - and, indeed, to European civilization - we frequently end by despairingly agreeing that the West seems intent on committing political and cultural suicide. We look starkly at the demographic statistics, the wimpishness of our Establishment in the face of the threat, the perversions perpetuated by political correctness and our own passivity, it's hard to avoid the conclusion that within a couple of generations, Islam will be in control in Europe. Consider just a few chilling statistics. Europeans are failing to reproduce. Just to keep the population steady, you need to have 2.1 live births per woman. However, in 2005, the European average was 1.38. In Irealand it was 1.9, France 1.89, Germany 1.35 and Italy 1.23. Britain scored near the middle of this range with 1.6, but that was because - like France - we have a large Muslim population with a high birth rate. Indeed, Muslims are outbreeding non-Muslims throughout Europe.
"Just look at the development within Europe," said a triumphant Norwegian imam a few months ago, "where the number of Muslims is expanding like mosquitoes. Every Western woman in the EU is producing an average of 1.4 children. Every Muslim woman in the same countries is producing 3.5 children. Our way of thinking will prove more powerful than yours."
The big question this poses is: Why are we not reproducing? There are many reasons but probably the most important are the decline of religion and the liberation of women. Whereas in the 1970's, I was regarded both in the UK and Ireland as odd for being voluntarily childless, these days, childlessness is a common choice. In Ireland...

Whenever I’m away from the UK, I hear all the horror stories from people ‘in the know’ (mainly people that have never been to the UK), of how the Muslims are taking over the country and getting away with committing crimes, but that is never the case when I return.

What really matters is not that you are very wrong about your statement in 2007, but how right you will be in 2047.
With a United Kingdom fertility rate of 1.66 as of 2005, it looks grim.
No it isn’t. I live there. It isn’t. Sure Islam is a challenge, and a potentially lethal one, but they aren’t even close to running things yet. And, as the correspondant says, they are also overplaying their hand.

You want to be more fussy about what you read! Catholics make up 8% of the UK population and there are 3488 catholic churches compared to 1203 mosques.

2) If all countries put all their efforts into “cleaning up their own house” before doing anything, NOTHING would ever be done. Muslim immigration into the UK is no more a problem than Hispanic immigration into the US. Maybe less so.

The UK is 92.7 white anglo saxon celtic christian. Compare that with the US and see who need to worry most and soonest.
I find that VERY hard to believe. The Baptist Union has 2000 churches in England alone, and they make up about 3% of the population. CofE must have 20,000 churches plus.
They tend to concentrate in certain areas, where in some cases they are close to forming a majority.
That is exactly right.
Its because we are reasonable and freedom loving and affable and responsible.
Perhaps we should threaten to blow people up when they insult our Lord? Perhaps then we get taken seriously?
“Will Britian one day be muslim?” Yes. Unless Britian seals its borders to muslims and begins to deport those that are already there. Right now, political correctness rules, but in the near future such actions may not be seen as extreme.
