Frankly I don't care if the Presidential candidate gets up in the morning and worships a bed post. I want a Presidential candidate that promises to cut government to the bone. That thing conservative candidates used to work for. Back before the Republican party returned to its roots of big government and even bigger promises of wasteful spending.
Seeing as the 'big three' sound like they haven't met a spending bill they wouldn't like, and the other 6 either want some sort of social moral law at the federal level, I think I'll actually vote for the lone conservative in the Republican primary. The only one that mentioned the Constitution in the debate and the only one on the stage that apparently knew the document existed.
Is that why Romney did not follow Mormon teaching on abortion and homosexuality -- until he decided to run for president?
Ummm....not being the DEMOCRAT Teddy Kennedy.
He’s received the worse tag by the liberals...
Snake Oil Salesman!!
The propaganda from the left is very dangerous!
Burjean, that is so true.
And how did you know that my uncle was a Kennedy Catholic? lol.
I believe the book of Mormon is phony as the day is long but I do admire Mormons for what are clearly strong traditional family values. Utah isn’t the most conservative state in the Union for nothing. I spent a good deal of time researching Joseph Smith and the ever changing book of Mormon which is at best science fiction. I know a little about such fictions because a ancestor of mine wrote a similar tome, though he did it through automatic typing instead of translating with the use of a seer stone. The translating was suppose to be perfect letter for letter when the tablets were received from the angel Moroni.

That doesn’t qualify you for LCR endorsement. LCR can chose to support; but endorsement is an application process.
Exactly.
I don’t see anything inconsistent (as far as the Mormon Church is concnerned) with Romey’s actions about abortion or homosexuality. One could argue that he has flipped politically.
Actually, it is looking more like the DNC and their media sycophancy are now certain they can accentuate the negatives regarding the huge differences in Mormonism and Christianity, thereby dividing conservatives and suppressing conservative and moderately conservative turnout in ‘08. This process of divide and conquer over Romney’s religion will not start in earnest until he gets the nomination, if he gets it. The DNC is seeking any means to smear religious conservatism so their brand of religious posturing will win the day, ideologically. It has little or nothing to do with God or obedience to God’s leading. If evangelicals cannot be made to tow the liberal lines, they will be marginalized and eliminated from the activism effect.
Similarly with public promotion of "gay rights".
And Romney promised to be a leader in taking "gay rights" from the Ted Kennedy fringes to the mainstream, which has indeed happened, to the detriment of society. Romney also supported the governor's government funded gay youth (gay recruitment) council in Massachusetts for nearly his entire term, until the legislature formed a SECOND gay youth council.
You are saying that is consistent with Mormonism?
Christians proclaim the Cross, Mormons hide the Cross
Classical christianity is based on the concept of irretrievably corrupt and sinful humans being redeemed by Jesus' "paying the price" on the cross in our place, and we, in repentane accepting his sacrifice as the central principal of our lives. Catholics and Evangelicals see the cross as symbolically central to their faith. In Mormonism, the central principal of the cross is pushed to the periphery, to the extent that the symbol and the meaning behind it are largely ignored. It's a religion about the Golden Rule and seeking righteousness, which is all well and good, but is not "Christianity" in the historic sense of the term, any more than Confucianism.
Christians proclaim the Cross, Mormons hide the Cross
End up with nothing.
Exactly!
Thompson/Hunter '08!
In whose eyes?
Hi, PYW...Finished with your packing?
Look at the 2002 Arizona Governor’s race for a preview of what you’ll get if Mitt Romney wins the primary. We had a good man, Matt Salmon, a conservative Republican and a mormon against Janet Napolitano (one who hadn’t even lived here that long - sound familiar?) and she won, partly due to the 3rd party candidate who sucked off votes. But Matt’s “nice guy” face couldn’t overcome the questions about mormonism, low name recogniton, and a lackluster campaign.
In my opinion, if Mitt wins the primary and Hillary is the dem candidate, we’re looking at another 4-8 in the slammer with a President Clinton! I didn’t do anything wrong to get prison time and that’s what America will be under her watch...
So youre saying Mormonism is NOT a cult? Thats an interesting interpretation.
Good info, thanks. BTW, your home page is chock full of good information on Romney.
