I find it impossible to think about Gerry Rivers without considering the time in his talk show days when he had a doctor extract some lard from his butt and inject it into his face -- live and on the air. The incident kind of defines his career as a half-*ssed lawyer and a puffed up newsreader.

I was just watching that. Incredible demagoguery by Giraldo. He’s being as he was in the old days.

The facts are that illegal immigrants attack other people much more than they are attacked themselves. They are a high-crime bunch, because they are willing to break the law to get here in the first place. The open border is really a filter to let in criminals selectively.

What is even more ominous is that sociological studies show that members of the second generation of immigrants usually have much higher crime rates than their parents. There is nothing much racial about this: it just seems to be a fact of immigration. The second generation is between one culture and another, and they don’t feel a part of the general society. The people around them are viewed as potential prey.

The immigrant groups also tend to have many, many offspring. This increases the number of youth in the danger-age, and leads to an increase in crime. It is simple demographics. You can bank on it.

It will be a double whammy: alientated youth, and plenty of them.

I was really surprised the military let him embed with them during the Iraq invasion considering his anti war and anti military bullshit reporting during the Vietnam War. Of course from what I heard they did not let him stay long something to do with writing the military ops plan in the sand for his viewing audience.

This guy has always been and always will be a piece of crap in the Dan Rather mode of reporting.
