I am coming to suspect magnetics at work here.
Each of our cells has a magnetism.

Fascinating.

The rights to one of the most important scientific discoveries of all time wouldn't be sold off to a newspaper for a quick check.

Then who would it be sold to?

;-)

Great post.

Thank you for a possible explanation.

> ...it makes one wonder...

Your head is humming and it won't go
In case you don't know
The piper's calling you to join him
Dear lady, can you hear the wind blow
And did you know
Your stairway lies on the whispering wind

And as we wind on down the road
Our shadows taller than our soul
There walks a lady we all know
Who shines white light and wants to show
How everything still turns to gold
And if you listen very hard
The tune will come to you at last
When all is one and one is all
To be a rock and not to roll...

And she's buying
A stairway
To heaven

Do you think there is a cure?

Most people don’t get those kind of details.

Has she seen anything else?

Read two chapters of “The Road To Serfdom” and call me in the morning.

This reminds me of Malcolm Gladwell's book Blink. The premise is that people have the ability to "thin slice" situations by subconsciously extracting only the most important facts available from the environment (this ability is enhanced by experience).

By doing this, the brain's processing power can focus on just those things that matter, and the result is that our subconscious reaches conclusions before our conscious (sometimes even in direct opposition to our conscious).

We know more than we think we do.

Interesting article thanks. When I was young and carefree and liked to drive fast, I would just “know” when there was a cop with radar set up around the next curve. A sense of doom would hit me suddenly and I would slow down. Now I am a law abiding senior citizen and I only get parking tickets.

If you could consistenly guess the next roll of the dice, roulette wheel or card in blackjack 5% better than pure chance you would eventually own every casino in the world.

So if this happens, as many believe, it doesn’t happen for profit.

Good point.

Years ago I had a friend who regularly dreamed events that soon happened. I had knowledge of several of her dreams before they happened.

She dreamed a country club burned down and the fire dept. pumped water out of the swimming pool to put it out. It happened a few days later.

We had a place in the Texas hill country and we took this friend and her family up there. On the way up she asked me if there was any way we could be locked out when we got there. I said no, there was a lock on the gate and I had the key. When we arrived our lock was hanging uselessly on the chain and the electric company's lock was preventing us from entering. We had to take the gate off the hinges to get in.

There were several other minor events that she told me about before they happened. This gift, if you want to call it that, seemed to be driving her crazy because her dreams also contained lots of stuff that never happened.

It wasn’t long before she got so weird that I didn’t really want to be around her anymore.

I once had a premonition in a dream the morning I was to catch a flight with many of my family. I saw and heard countless numbers of panicked people trapped within a confined area screaming in pain and anguish. It was terrifying and I could not go back to sleep.

I caught the flight anyway, but remained awake the entire journey from Massachusetts to California, finally returning home around 3:30 AM.

Although exhausted, I forced myself to stay awake long enough to call an aunt at a more reasonable time to have her spread the word we had all arrived home safely. Ten minutes after the call the first plane hit the WTC. True story.

Yes, or you think of someone you haven't seen in years, and then run into them a few days later.

I hate that! The reason why is because I will dream of someone and think that I need to contact someone. I will find them and have them say, "I was just thinking of you." Which is when I wonder why I am going to all the trouble of finding them instead of vice versa.
