Soviet WWII Military Losses Estimated At Nearly 9 Million
May 8th, 2007 — Russia has raised its estimate for the number of Soviet troops killed in World War II to 8.86 million.==

Estimates put at more than 25 million the total number of Soviet civilian and military war dead.==
Accually as far as I red same article Kirilinhe said that total soviet losses amount is about 11 mlns. Accually it is decrease not increase.
One has to wonder how many of these revised Russian/Soviet war dead numbers - did not die in action fighting Axis forces - but were in fact machine gunned down by the NKVD (the terror tool of Communist party) if they were either 'too slow' in attacking King Tiger tanks for example, or were not willing to be used in suicidal Red Army human wave attacks against superior fire power.
When it comes to believing anything coming out of the Kremlin - forget-about-it ....
