According to liberal Democrats, their loyal press and their mindless minions across the country, none of whom care about the facts, they were “elected” by Americans in 2006 for the purpose of “saving America” from those corrupt Republicans who have been busy “selling America” to lobbyists and foreign interests.

The problem with their story is, according to official Federal Election Commission reports, it isn’t supported by the hard facts. During the study years running from 1990 through 2006, here are the real facts concerning who is selling America for political contributions…

Best I can tell, that’s all any Democrat gets into politics for...

It has become the most reliable “get-rich-quick” early retirment scheme in America today!

We all know that every Washington politician is a millionaire today. The dirty little secret is, most Republicans were millionaires before Washington DC, and most Democrats become millionaires in Washington DC...

:::
That is a part of it, but the POWER AND CONTROL EGO is a big part of it. Those three things represent the TOTAL PICTURE as to what the Libs are in politics for. It has been that way, in varying ratios, since Tammany Hall. The last thing they are interested in is America, its people, managing its government in the INTENDED WAY, and clearly protecting the Constitution and our freedoms and liberties.

Sadly, that spills over into the Repubs now too — in general Washington is out of control, and we need to clean it out and replace our elected officials with PATRIOTS who care about us, the country and understand the REASON THEY WERE SENT TO WASHINGTON to begin with.

Maybe this is what we should do.......decentralize Congress.....make the Senators and Reps stay in their districts and conduct business via the internet.....make the lobbyists come to them.

Why do we have to confine the sell-out to “either-or”? Hell, both parties are selling us out.

A big fat AMEN to that!!!!

I see Fred Thompson as imperfect, but the brightest light on the horizon in this regard. Do you see anyone?

Good stuff!
Fascinating to dig down via opensecrets to see the flow. Interesting item in the Dim’s top 50 expeditures for 2006 was a million bucks to ‘Bingo Winnings’.

Speaking of lying libs, that atheist Christopher Hitchens is going around promoting his new book on heresy by claiming that Karl Rove is an atheist.

I would be severly disaapointed in our President if his chief advisor is not guided by faith.

I like it...

I’m also in favor of returning them to a $35,000 salary and a 20 hour per month job, like it started out to be...

I’m also for revoking both the XVI and XVII Amendments.

States Rights were gone with the passage of XVII and the federal government has been out of control since the passage of XVI...

Lots of interesting facts for anyone interested in the facts...

You can count all liberals out...

Facts are to liberals what holy water is to a vampire...

Unfortunately, being oif faith and being guided by that faith are two very different things. Rove is a man of faith... I can’t speak to the later...

I was a Hunter fan and remain a Hunter fan, but only for the VP slot.

How does a man manage to be in Washington as long as he has been, without making any name for himself?

Further, Hunter has more moral authority to call liberals on their treasonous acts than anyone else in Washington. But he has been all but silent on the topic.

This, does not a leader make???

But I could support him on the ticket with Fred for sure...

He’s a good man, but not a leader...

11/06
New Speaker-elect Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), has been vocal for weeks about her intentions should the Democrats become the majority in the House, and lobbying and ethics reforms are the first order-of-business on “day one” of the new session. She also promises to set a high bar, saying that “the Democrats intend to lead the most honest, most open, and most ethical Congress in history.’’ There is now no excuse not to pass real reform.

Pelosi’s bill, H.R. 4682, for the most part, is a very strong bill. It would:

Increase transparency of lobbyists’ activities - enabling searches online showing which lobbyists are talking to which Congressmen;
Slow the revolving door - the time a Representative must wait before becoming a lobbyist is doubled;
Prohibit privately-sponsored travel for members and require detailed itineraries on trips;
Ban gifts from lobbyists to members or staff;
Expose who is putting earmarks in our bills; and
Create an Office of Public Integrity (OPI) to monitor and initiate investigations against lobbyists (but not members of Congress).”

How’s that working for you, Dems???
ROTFLMAO!!!!!

This is great information, thank you for sharing!

Regarding Karl Rove, he is apparently either an agnostic or an atheist.

However, in my opinion (not especially humble), one is as much of a bigot to judge him on this one way or another as one is to judge someone in this role who has faith in God (via Jesus, Mohammed, etc.) — you know, the leftist assaults on a man of great faith, President Bush? If Mr. Rove is a good decision maker it shouldn’t matter, hence the true essence of our beloved ‘separation of church and state’. He is free to choose.

Of course, this said, I’d be more suspicious of a presidential candidate who is not a person of faith, but that is a leadership role, much different than an advisory role.
