As a child I worn “magical” Catholic scapulars.

I see many Christians wearing magical crucifixes.

Orthodox Jews wear magical yarmulkes.

Seems there are a many people just too, too, magical for you to vote for.

Perhaps it’s a Western thing? Don’t most Mormons live in the West?
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

There are more Mormons living **outside** of the U.S. than within the U.S.

“Sorry. I have personally heard many anti-Mormon sermons preached from the pulpit.”

That’s because the Mormon religion is a cult.

Any religion that teaches that Jesus was a created being, the brother of Satan, and that the members of that religion themselves will become gods who control their own universe someday is definitely not Christian no matter what’s in their “title” and can’t be compared with Catholicism, which isn’t a cult.

Having said that, I’d vote for Romney in a heartbeat because I agree with him on most issues. Besides, nobody knows what’s really in his heart nor what he’ll believe in the future anyway. I think it’s likely that God hasn’t finished with him yet.

Rudy is the only one so far who hasn’t a chance in h*ll of getting my vote.

Me too, even though Romneys flip-flopping really bothers me.

Course I gotta tell you that is kinda the way Mormonism started. I have copies of documents where my ancestors who were some of the first Mormons lied and signed, swearing an oath to God ,stating that plural marriage, and other controversial practices was not being practiced in the church, even thought they knew full well it was. Because they were witnesses to, and in some cases practicing. This was very early on in Nauvoo.

They were lying because they were told to by leadership, and knew they would lose converts, and suffer persecution if the truth was known, kinda the same thing Romney does.

The church as an organization still do this when they deny the early teachings of the church.

I have witnessed this kind of no committal to conservative priniples among many, not all, but some (especially in high places) Mormon elected officials who I am personally aquainted with. They seems to want to be all things to all people to get elected, and I worry that they will easily flip flop on any issue dependng on what they view will be popular.

Course I see that in all religions, and it makes me sick.

Which presidents were Unitarian? Unitarian Presidents
John Adams
John Quincy Adams
Millard Fillmore
William Howard Taft

complete list of religious denominations of presidents

Interestingly, Eisenhower's parents were pretty serious Jehovah's Witnesses. I think it is safe to say that he stopped believing Russelism by the time he was Prez (for starters., they don't get involved in politics). He DID use a "New World Translation" Bible for the second inaugural, however.

Crucifixes, crosses and the Star of David are not MAGICAL. They are a visual expression of faith. Orthodox Jews wear magical yarmulkes out of obedience to God. It isn’t a fashion statement.

LDS dictates the type of underware that members are to wear?

antimormon books

Again, without seeing all the books in question, I can't address the issue 100%; however, I frequent many different Christian bookstores here in Mobile, both Mom & Pop operations and big chain stores.
I also frequent the sections of these stores that carry books on other religions. I have never seen any book that was anti-Mormon or even hateful toward the LDS church. I have seen, and own several books expounding on their beliefs and pointing out those that we believe are in opposition to Gods word. To call these anti-Mormon is reminiscent of Al and Jesse.
I've not been, but I suspect one could enter a predominately Catholic bookstore and find books on why they believe Baptists are wrong; that doesn't make the book anti Baptist members, only anti Baptist in general; and calling it that is even a bit of a stretch.

The “Mormon issue” seems to be more important to the drive-by media than to the grass-roots Republican voters.

Agreed. This anti-Mormon/Romney issue is being fanned by the left, not the right, as a means to divide the GOP.

I am a member of a conservative protestant denomination. I have never heard any anti-Mormon stuff preached from the pulpit. That said, it’s obvious Mormon’s aren't a traditional Christian denomination, but so what? I don’t care. That is not the reason I won’t vote for Romney. He’s too liberal for me and is trying to hard to appear to be conservative.

This is much to do about nothing. Romney is not going to get the nomination because he is too liberal, not because he is Mormon.

“We recognize no Sovereign but God, and no King but Jesus!” [April 18, 1775, on the eve of the Revolutionary War after a British major ordered John Adams, John Hancock, and those with them to disperse in “the name of George the Sovereign King of England." ]John Adams.

this does not sound Unitarian to me, course Methodists were quite different back then too.

Hm...how do those crucifixes appear to non-Christians?

Answer: Magical. Even if they are not.

Well.,..Are you non-Mormon with a fetish-like, religious fixation on other people’s underwear. ( Creepy!)

Hm...Is that how you choose a **President**! By their underwear?
