Well I think Mitt looked the most presidential with Hunter and Brownback also looking good.

If we secured the country from illegals, we have nothing to be afraid of. Iranians can play in the sand all they want. They have no navy, no air force and no military. What makes so terrified?

Friend, what scares me or doesn't scare me is beside the point. The point is that Ron Paul is a loon who sat in COngress with his thumb up his arse for years while the islamonuts played offense and he played constitutionalist. It didn't work out so well.

I think that is why they jumped around asking the questions, so that people wouldn;’t notice how often they skipped certain people. The only time they went down the row was when they did the interactive questions and possibly the yes/no ones. But, other than that, he jumped around and deliberately skipped some. If it wasn’t for the interactive questions, some of them would have only been asked yes or no questions.

I am not making a decision until I hear more talk about Gun Control.

EV,
You and JRochelle are the only two people on a thread that is 2000 posts long who continually bag on Romney. You need to get over your obsession with the man, or people are going to start thinking you’re a Democrat trying to submarine the one Republican who can win in 2008.

I liked Duncan Hunter and Mike Huckabee a lot tonight, too. But neither one of them stands a chance at beating Hillary or Obama.

I’d be happy with Fred Thompson, Hunter, or Huckabee as Mitt’s VP candidate...but I think that Hunter brings the most to the table, since he’s a veteran.

I’ll stick with Hunter’s A+ rating from the NRA.

I don't believe so. Thought somebody might ask about gun control in the wake of the murders at Virginia Tech.

Thanks! You were right. I was referring to embryonic. I support adult fully, but I am opposed to embryonic. Do you know which candidates opposed embryonic?

I always thought McCain was a media creation because he had good credentials and would bash Bush. I’m not sure why the MSM likes Giuliani. It won’t last if he becomes the candidate.

Well, I want to learn more about all of the ones (left on your list). The good and the bad. We can be sure that the Dems will focus on the bad....so we need to find out about it all now. The sooner the better.

A question about gun control would have served better time then a question about bill clinton.

Bingo!
You should try “pro-active”..it’s so much healthier than “re-active”.
Goodnight.

He has publicly said that his friend John McCain being in the race has caused him reluctance to entering.

Honestly had not heard that. Did hear him on Fox News last night saying that there are certain instances where the 'times meet the man', and that he sees where he may be able to help this country. I believe that.

BTW, I'm glad that he has many friends, they will come in handy.

Greetings Swordfished:

Obama was lousy in the Dem debate though.

That really surprises me, although I did not watch the 'Rat propaganda fest. Obama is my other useless Senator. (Except now we've moved to Ohio because of my military duty assignment.)

Romney’s quick on his feet.

Agreed.

Cheers,
OLA

Romney comes across as the consummate business executive and family man. So many of his answers have an economic theme to them. Time and time he’s shown he understands the way businesses work and the way the legal system works. He’s by far the most competent politician I’ve seen in a long time, and he’s got the record and the speaking skills to pull it off. Washington could seriously use a big dose of Wall Street about now.

Harvard MBA. Harvard lawyer. Rescued dozens of failing businesses. Very tight with his own money, right down to household expenses.

Some people don't give him enough credit. Easily one of the most intelligent and capable candidates either party has ever fielded. OTOH, America doesn't like intellectuals. And Mitt is an uber-Eagle Scout kind of guy. You know, we all like the Eagle Scouts we know. But you wonder if they are cold-blooded enough to be a good president, especially if you have to bomb or make hard decisions.

FWIW, I think Romney would make the grade. But you wouldn't see a Katrina-type fiasco with him. He'd reorganize FEMA and other agencies, top to bottom.

I hope there's still room for a serious pro-business candidate in our party. I'm sick of compassionate conservative hogwash. It's a lot more compassionate to grow an economy and give someone in need a job with health benefits.

I also liked it when Romney said Osama would die. And his light touch on the Catholic bishops doing whatever they wanted cracked me up. When Romney made that correction on ID cards but only for foreigners or resident aliens, he showed that he understood the full ramifications of the question. None of the other candidates were on the ball enough to catch that angle so they were stuck with saying me-too.

Better yours than mine. He's an OB/GYN!
