Watch as CNN and MSNBC blame Rush Limbaugh for this. Right now its taking root in Kookosphere. Before long it will be in the MSM.

No, I didn’t say the election was in 120 days. LOL
I said the SECRET SERVICE says they will protect major candidates with in 120 days. Go back and read the whole thread and don’t pull parts of it out of context. That was in response to someone ELSE and a question they asked

The DNC should take care of this, not the tax payer until 120 days before the election. It makes us look like a banana republic when our major presidential candidates can't be protected from assassination-- at least that we attempt to prevent it. We're trying to tell the world how to run their governmental affairs, so we need to make sure our nose is clean and that we don't look like a guy who lost his driver's license teaching driver's ed.

Its the nominees, not the candidates who by law are provided SS protectin. Really? NO, it's CANDIDATES. NOT Nominees. Anyone can be nominated for President by any group or political party out there. But unless they are legit MAJOR candidates, and unless it is WITHIN 120 days (so there are no more misreads) of the election, they aren't normally given such support. Please folks read the link that not only I posted but someone else posted. It spells it out. The President can ORDER protection for someone he deems requiring it. So can the Secretary of the Treasury. For those that don't know USSS falls under the Treasury Dept.

My brother-in-law said he was going to kick my ass last week. Where’s my SS detail?

Dman.... Quick headline glance and I thought my God the Secret Service caught Osama.
Mr. B. Hussein Obama by the very nature of his name alone is disqualified to be the POTUS.... Sorry B.

one more thing.. If you think about it the Dems ran Kerry the VVAW to make Iraq Vietnam... The intend to Run Obama, as a diversity model and to make us guilty for our feelings against our enemies....
This is the worst kind of hypnosis ever. If Osama is the nominee, I really think I will march on DC in protest.

Now, they say there was NO threat. If I were polling lower than he or Hillary (or comparable in other party) I would just say I wanted protection. Instantly, I am suddenly much more Presidential in appearance. I do wonder if this was a publicity move now.

The first Media debate has already happened and the Media is a state institution per the Constitution. Even without that the candidates, some of them, have already filed intent, which is a corporate action. Corporations are a state instution per the Constitution. Obama is in the system however you cut it, so he must receive protection.

Jihadists would be the most likely logical candidates for threats on B. Hussein Obama. Pehaps in this day and age all major candidates should be provided some level of protection if their own private security personnel can not handle it. My guess is the jihadis would like nothing better than to disrupt our national elections.

I’ve never known candidates to get SS protection until they were the nominee.

"It would have to be quite a credible threat to warrant this action; Im sure threats like this happen daily by people who want to get noticed, or people full of hate."
I seriously doubt it was a threat from the KKK that got the SS protection. Probably some leftist who threatened Obama if he DIDN'T act more anti-war.

They are causing more of our troops to be killed or wounded in action, by giving aid and comfort to the enemy. I wonder what George Washington or the other founders would think about the Demo-Socialists.

HILLARY?
To: GraniteStateConservative
Nice hyperbole there, this guy has not won one primary yet thousands of $$$ are spent on him everyday along with his usual Senate protection.
The DNC should pay to protect him not the tax payer.

A statement from Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff said he authorized the protection detail for Obama. Can he do that? I thought the law allowed only the President via Executive Order to authorize the Secret Service to extend protection to a candidate outside of the 120-day election window.

Someone want to explain to me how a Presidental candidate(who hasnt even won a primary), rates SS protection? I know the circumstances are different, particularly the timing and the issue of having won a primary, but since Bobby Kennedy in '68 this has been SOP for candidates at some point in the presidential campaigns. When it happens is a matter of judgement.
If there's been a specific threat I have absolutely no problems with the timing. Even without a threat, the way the moonbats are losing it at an exponenetially accelerating rate raises the overall tension and increases the possibility of something happening.
