Terri wanted to live. The feeding tube was not life support. It was just Ensure. They wrote laws to kill Terri. They refused to revisit laws that made food medical treatment.
The judges however committed felonies bec it is a felony to deny nutrition and hydration from a disabled person.
STOP FELONS! America, do you get it yet? F.S. 824 or 825 (somewhere in there).
TERRI WAS MURDERED FOR THE PURPOSE OF ESCALATION and Vigil attendants were guinea pigs to see how homeland security would act. Shortly thereafter, Katrina hit and homeland security couldnt handle that either.
They didn't learn anything pushing vigilers around. And, mean? They were so callous and mean that I thought I was behind the iron curtain. The media sensationalized what was going on. It was all planned out. Sickening that Amerika's justice system and politicians killed an innocent woman.
Cheryl acknowledged people in the back of the book. You may be in her book. Or you, or you there lurking in your cubicle.
Had Terri been a simple criminal, she would be alive today.
Ex post facto laws (changing the definition of life support AFTER Terri's injuries) are expressly forbidden in the Constitution and a forces dehydration and starvation stretched out over an indefinite period of time would clearly meet any definition of "cruel and unusual punishment."
The Florida Constitution gives expressed rights and protections for the disabled, which in Terri's case were totally ignored.
Judge Greer was hell bent on killing Terri. He got so many awards for killing her from death lawyers, the aclu, scientology's lawyer, Clwtr Bar, Pasco Bar.Greer got at least 9 awards from his scumbag ambulance chasing liberal atheistic cabal.
Michael Schiavo was named guardian of the year. They couldn't do any better than scoundrel? Sheriff Everett Rice hired Micheal Schiavo and then paid him time off so MS could keep Terri's real family from seeing her as she lay dying w/out water or nutrition. After Sheriff Rice hired Michael Schiavo, he took an uncontested seat in Tallahassee and VOTED TO KILL TERRI.
The attorneys (bad ones) want to take away people's inalienable rights. That is how they earn a living. ROBBER BARONS all.
Terri's Legacy List exists for a reason. It is more than a ping list imo.
Senator Barack Obama of Illinois, by reputation a dynamic performer, was reserved and cautious as he talked about a donor with a shady past, how he would respond to a terrorist attack on American shores and his biggest mistake (not doing more to stop Congress from intervening in the Terri Schiavo case, he said).
Obama supports euthanasia (culture of death).
Obama is farther to the left on abortion than almost ANYONE out there. He believes that a baby who is born alive after an abortion should still be killed.

The only thing I can predict tonight is that Julie will lie.
Just watched it. Duncan Hunter punctuated the point that defending Terri was right, as did Sen. Brownback. Rudy who already said he supported a woman’s right to, uhhhhh, choose, thought the judges (Greer, Whittmore) were dandy. McVain danced and said the government did wrong.
Somebody more attentive than I can give a better account.
Mitt tried to sidestep.
Yes, Terri’s Legacy was brought up to all, in terms of whether it was right for the government to intervene. Terri’s Legacy is a watershed.
On the contentious issue of abortion -- where many simply want to know where a candidate stands -- the debate perhaps created a problem for Giuliani while Romney got a chance to explain why he switched sides.
The former New York mayor, who stands out in the 10-man race because he calls himself "pro-choice," appeared to waffle when candidates were asked if they favored the repeal of the landmark Supreme Court Roe v. Wade ruling guaranteeing women the right to abortion.

The debate showed some fissures among the Republican 2008 hopefuls: They were divided on the need for national identification cards and whether Congress was right to inject itself in the Terry Schiavo right-to-die case.

Still, they managed to spell out their differences on a variety of issues, including abortion, stem cell research and congressional intervention in the Terri Schiavo right-to-die case

McCain and Giuliani did stand out the most, along with minor libertarian Ron Paul. On immigration. Or Iran. On end-of-life decisions. "In retrospect, we should have taken more time," McCain said of Congress' aggressive leap into the emotional Terry Schiavo case. "That what we have courts for," Giuliani agreed.

Losers: For one major candidate, this may just be a blip in the radar. For the 2nd-tier folks, this is a nail in the coffin.
Rudy Giuliani - I really think hes having delusions that hes been possessed by the spirit of Ronald Reagan. Most responses either referenced Reagan or how he saved New York. When abortion came around, he hemmed and hawed and made no sense. When the question of how the candidates are different from Bush came around he stepped right in line with Bush. He seems willing to decide issues when hes conservative enough for the Republicans and push issues to the courts when hes not (i.e. abortion, Schiavo). Overall, I think he created some questions about himself that will erode his support. Hes got enough juice to turn it around if he can play it right, but this certainly showed some big cracks in his armor. I think this might be the first sign to true conservatives that hes not one of them.

National Review's Rich Lowry put it best: "This might be ... the night when Rudy stopped being solely the hero of 9/11 and started being a presidential candidate like everyone else. It was inevitable at some point."
BTW: he's going to get some heat for his Terri Schiavo answer. Tonight, Giuliani said the matter should have been left to the courts. But in '04, he supported the federal government's intervention.

Sam Brownback - Another candidate who doesnt believe in evolution, we might as well just call Brownback The 700 Club candidate. He is just out to play to the social conservatives, and he mostly looked foolish and out of touch with the events of today. In short his candidacy will have its plug pulled like Teri Schiavo.

Three of the better-known candidates Mr. Romney, Mr. Giuliani and Mr. McCain, saying he was speaking with the benefit of hindsight said Congress made a mistake in interceding in the legal question of whether to maintain life support for Terri Schiavo, a brain-damaged Florida woman.

Thread by wagglebee on pro-death bishop stance...
AUSTIN, May 3, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) The Catholic Bishops of Texas have endorsed a utilitarian theory that allows doctors and hospital bioethics committees to refuse life-saving treatments to patients who need and request them.
Renowned lawyer and bioethics critic Wesley J. Smith has slammed the Texas Catholic Conference for opposing a bill that would allow patients an extra ten days to find alternate care facilities for patients who have been refused care on utilitarian grounds.

At the beginning of her dissent in the recent Partial Birth Abortion (PBA) case, Gonzalez v. Carhart, Justice Ginsburg, joined by Justices Stevens, Souter and Breyer, called the majority's decision "alarming." Though there is nothing legally alarming about this decision, Justice Ginsburg and other abortion advocates' feelings were deeply hurt by what they consider an intrusion on their rights.
