a news conference would be held later on Thursday to announce the "success" of an operation against Sunni Islamist al QaedaGood, ol' anti-American al-Reuters: the head of the Sunni Islamist thug terrorists was just killed, and al-Reuters puts "success" in quotes.

Yes, al-Iraqi means literally “from Iraq”. Saddam and his sons were al-Tikriti (”from Tikrit”). al-Baghdadi means he was born in Baghdad.
And yes, the name of media head ( Muharib Muhammad Abdullah, also known as Abu Abdullah al-Iraqi ) knifed by “Islamic Army in Iraq” means he’s another “victim” of internecine Civil War within al-Qaeda and other Crips and Bloods running around Iraq, just like al-Masri was. Abu Omar al-Baghdadi was actually killed due to US and Iraqi military/police action.
If only people heard about this from network TV news (I wouldn’t know, I stopped watching those long time ago), Harry Reid and Pelosi would have been run out of town.
Thanks for link, mewzilla. Good hunting, our brave troops in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere.

Yeah, you’re right. I could not believe that I heard him yesterday tell a caller that Iraq didn’t have WMD. The caller said they’d used poison gas on the Kurds. O’Reilly said, “That wasn’t WMD. It was Sarin gas.” Duh, Sarin gas is GB. It most certainly is WMD. We’ve a major treaty to destroy all of our stockpile of it with Russia. It’s very dangerous stuff. Then he went on to say many other foolish things. Whew.

Are you sure about that? According to Xinhua, Muharib Muhammad Abdullah is the head of al-Qaeda media office, and his nom de guerre is Abu Abdullah al-Iraqi, and he was killed with a knife by another Sunni group “Islamic Army in Iraq”, not in US-Iraqi joint op.

I think this is a second aQI command leader that died from internecine fight inside Iraq.

Thank you. I’ve been trying to paint a picture of Iraq as mousetrap / roach motel for al-Qaeda for those who care to open their eyes and ears long enough to have their mind opened.
It works better than most anything else, and usually almost immediately.

How long has he been dead? That green discoloration and bloat suggest it has been some time.

And .. the first bad guy was taken out by the Sunni’s - who collaborated with each other. I find that truly outstanding.
