OKLAHOMA CITY - Attorney General Alberto Gonzales said Wednesday that having more guns on college campuses is not the way to prevent campus violence like the massacre at Virginia Tech. Since the April 16 shootings that left 33 people dead, including the gunman, at Virginia Tech, some have suggested that the carnage might have been lower if a student or professor with a gun had stepped in. "I dont think that is the answer quite frankly," said Gonzales, who was participating in a governors task force to study safety and security on Oklahoma college campuses. Instead, authorities should enforce existing laws concerning the ownership and use of handguns, he said.

Gonzalez is an imbecile. How embarrassing for supporters of the GOP...
un huh. we know it doesn’t work, but we’re gonna keep doing it because it helps peopel FEEL safe. of course they are actually LESS safe, but they feel so good about it.
Sheesh!
This guy is BFN.
He is stuck on stupid!
and to think some people wanted him to be nominated to the Supreme Court nominee
The worst Bush appointee since “Brownie, you’re doin’ a heck of a job.”
Of course he does. What a statist putz.
Don’t forget the elevation of the EPA to cabinet level.
What Gonzalez implies is that to defend oneself, a citizen must disregard firearms concealed carry laws and property owners stipulation of "gun free zones" which are a myth, BTW.
So hard to believe that our politicians and bureaucrats are so removed from basic reality.
I would carry anywhere, anytime to exercise my right of self defense. Many Americans will have to face that fact and act in civil disobedience in order to have their constitutional rights, under what is now stare decisis law on the 2nd amendment, in Washington , DC anyway.
Below F'ing Normal?
I actually don’t even think Brownie did a bad job. It wasn’t his job at all. FEMA was not a first responder, and thus wasn’t prepared to be. The administration let that get out of hand. They should have made it very clear that it wasn’t there job, but on seeing the state falter, they swooped in and cleaned up the mess.
You’re kidding right?, The guy is a moron.
President Bush, please flush this turd.
On one hand Gonzales should be gone for his anti-civil rights positions and behaviour, but unfortunately the call for his resignanation is for a non-issue.
If the left would get it right, then more people would get behind the movement to remove him.
Enforce "existing" laws?
More STATE and FEDERAL(!) involvement?
Treatment can be very effective??
Even anti-gun liberals (and cops) who believe that only cops should have guns know that you can't "treat" your way out of a crime already in progress.
Unf***ingbelievable.
I agree. But I also think Gonzalez is incompetent.
He is so stupid that he can't understand that the only honorable thing to do is resign. Every day he remains in office is another day of embarrassment for the administration and himself.
