The graphic sex and extreme violence that I'd manage to aestheticism away earlier, I no longer could deal with. I told my wife I must be turning into a prude. "No," she said, "you're becoming normal again."
and turn to the good, the beautiful and the true. It's still here, hiding in plain sight.
Thank you rhema, I enjoyed this article. It somehow 'touched home' with me. Too much of anything makes us more and more immune to the 'opposite'.
Those of us who are comfortable forget the discomfort of others. Those who are angry all the time forget how to be nice. Those who delve in porn become immune and want more and worse things.
Some consider the internet 'not the real world' and deal differently with people than they would in 'real life'. I think we have all seen some of that recently.
Sorry, lol, just some of my thoughts.

The point, rather, is that we are so caught up in the routine of our lives that we fail to see extraordinary beauty right in front of us.
No. We just have real priorities. I understand that reporters do not actually produce anything of value to the world at large and so would be quite oblivious to the fact that yes, if all of us "little people" stopped that there actually would be repercussions.
That is ok. We forgive you little dancing monkey.
one other thing, my sons have both been at one time or another, street musicians. They began focusing on street musicians even as children and we always stopped and put money in the hat/case or whatever. I’m wondering whether this guy had his case laying out in front of him. :-)
That alone is enough to invalidate any point he has about missing beauty.

The violon is so damn dramatic... I have enough drama in my life.

OTOH this genius was revered at this venue:
The point is, a vast majority of people aren't interested in classical music. That symphonies would die if not for public subsidies and donations by large companies for public relations purposess.
I wonder if you would have had the same result, had that been Carlos Santana or Eric Clapton.

I wonder how much is due to media advertising. We are so busy that we dont have time to eat breakfast so a stop at McDonalds is mandatory. Home cooking is prepared food from the microwave. We just have to have our blackberries, cell phones and wifi laptops with us at all times.
How did we manage before we had these things? I remember a time when people really did stop and smell the roses occasionally.
Note: I do carry a cell phone, its less expensive than landline - and women friends expect me to stay in touch. I even had to learn how to text message.
