Well, okay, perhaps, compared to efforts of his predecessors, which was basically nothing, he's done more, but that ain't saying a whole lot.
That, and he supports shamnesty.
Fred's got the right idea: Lock the border down, go after people hiring illegals, and let the attrition of self imposed deportation take care of most of them.
Those who want to "aspire to citizenship", will follow the legal process. Those that don't can stay the hell out.

I think Fred has the guts to follow through though, and that’s the kind of man we need in the White House. A *real* man. Not
a manly woman (Hillary), a half and half man (Obama), or a girly man (Edwards). Someone who will be strong for the strongest among us (our troops) and strong for the weakest among us (unborn babies)...after reviewing the articles/interviews/videos that I’ve found here at FR, I honestly believe that Fred Dalton Thompson may be that man.
