Good observation. Not suprising considering they are the only audience he faces that are not aiming cannon barrels at him, in one form or another. I believe there is also a mutual admiration and trust between them.

He has to do this day-in and day-out.
Consider the fire hose of information he has to absorb every day.
Consider the number of people he has to catalog in his mind.
