“No state has the right to alienate the rights to life, liberty and private property. They are God-given, not bestowed by men.”

Let me put this another way. Who should have the final say regarding someone who is comatose? Should it be the family member or the wife? Should this issue be resolved at the Federal level or at the state level?

Human life should be protected from conception to natural death.

Why does Fred Thompson oppose a Human Life Amendment?

If you believe that human life protection by the Constituion is not left to the people and their state laws then why are you for a Human Life Amendment, when you could have a federal -- law.

Fred is right.

The name Fred has a cozy, familiar and friendly appeal. It sounds like the guy next door.

I knew you, or someone, would go there.

The amendment is needed because folks [like you, unfortunately] can’t seem to understand the straightforward meanings of such simple word concepts as “unalienable,” “posterity,” or “person.”

If the founders had known that Americans would get so dumbed-down, I’m certain they would have clarified further. Of course, no amount of clarification will indemnify against blatant dishonest interpretation, which is the real problem in many cases.

No. Prior to Roe, states were permitted to ban abortion or legalize abortion on demand.

You don't really believe that, do you?

How can anyone argue that abortion-on-demand is compatible with the Preamble with the U.S. Constitution?

No state had the right, pre- or post-Roe, to kill our posterity. To assert such is preposterous. It's against one primary purpose of our federal union.

A difficult question, and one which can be answered by each person signing a living will before becoming ill.

Pre-Roe, all states were prohibited by the U.S. Constitution from violating the right to life.

Pre Roe v. Wade, I believe all states at one time had laws against abortion. At the time of the abomination, Roe v. Wade, I believe 47 staes had laws against abortion.

Name one federal law that restricted abortion pre Roe v. Wade?

Fred is right.

Cite one case, just one, where prior to Roe vs. Wade the Supreme Court prohibited abortion.

You won’t find it.

Have fun reveling in the silliness of your compadre, the one who thinks the Confederacy was the same as the Articles of Confederation.

We’re done.

New York legalized abortion-on-demand in 1970, several other states followed. At the time of the Roe decision, only 31 states barred abortion except for the life of the mother.

It's not a matter of what I or anyone believes, it is an ascertainable fact.

He may be the answer to many a prayer asking The LORD in Jesus Holy Name, “Please raise up a candidate for President that the righteous can vote for. Please LORD have mercy by your grace upon this sin ridden country and deliver us from the plethora of candidates who at the least lack discernment and at the most are outright evil.”

Another appeal FDT may have, is a slight resemblance to Dwight D. Eisenhower, who had the image of a father figure. There the resemblance ends, for DDE was the man in charge of the European theatre of WWII, and achieved victory for America there. In fact, actor FTD could play the role of DDE on the screen, but does he have the qualifications to be president in Real Life?

I said no such thing. Those words were contained in your comments. Bye.

Of course. States are required to conform their laws to the principles of our union.

You wish to argue otherwise, that a state could have a pro-abortion law on the books, and still be establishing justice to posterity?

That is bogus, even if it is what Fred wants to pretend.

You didn't answer the question.

Fred is right. Overturn Roe v. Wade.

Tell us, how many states once countenanced slavery?

Not all actions by a state are constitutional. Ones that directly violate the Preamble are obviously in error. Ones that take life are even more egregious, in the aftermath of a Civil War that brought us the Fourteenth Amendment.

No state can take innocent life. Period.

Why even have a national government except to protect life, liberty and private property?
