Why does Fred Thompson oppose a Human Life Amendment?

If you believe that human life protection by the Constituion is not left to the people and their state laws then why are you for a Human Life Amendment, when you could have a federal -- law.

Fred is right.

I knew you, or someone, would go there.

The amendment is needed because folks [like you, unfortunately] can’t seem to understand the straightforward meanings of such simple word concepts as “unalienable,” “posterity,” or “person.”

If the founders had known that Americans would get so dumbed-down, I’m certain they would have clarified further. Of course, no amount of clarification will indemnify against blatant dishonest interpretation, which is the real problem in many cases.
