Obama Touts Gun-Control

Cho Seung-Hui, the presumed mentally ill gunman who shot 32 people at Virginia Tech inspired Democratic presidential candidate Senator Barack Obama (D-Ill.) to urge that laws should be strengthened to prevent the mentally ill from buying guns. Federal laws already prohibit those confirmed to be mentally ill from purchasing guns. Obama says these laws don’t go far enough.

“Existing laws miss the point,” Obama said. “A desire to own a gun should, by itself, be considered prima facie evidence of mental illness. I mean, who would want a gun? In this modern age, gun ownership is an anachronism. The average home-owner isn’t hunting to put food on his family’s table. He doesn’t need to fight off savages who would rape his wife and murder or abduct his children. Why does he need a gun? It’s nuts.”

Under Obama’s proposal, a new federal Gun Registry Administration Bureau (GRAB) would be established. GRAB would be authorized to review all state laws pertaining to gun ownership and void those deemed unsuitably “loose.” “Under our Constitution, regulation of firearms is a federal responsibility,” Obama claimed. “States must not be permitted to usurp this authority through lax enforcement.”

Obama insisted that “those truly in need of owning a weapon will still have access. All they have to do is demonstrate to the satisfaction of federal agents that they have a legitimate need for it.” Obama did admit, though, that demonstrating such a need would be difficult since the mere expression of a need for a firearm would normally be considered disqualifying.

In related news, California Assemblyman Kevin de León (D-Los Angeles) introduced a bill (AB 362) that would put restrictions on ammunition. De Leon applauded himself for “finding a loophole in the Second Amendment.” “The Bill of Rights says people have the right to bear arms,” de Leon pointed out. “It doesn’t say anything about bullets.”

De Leon congratulated himself on coming up with “a bullet-proof solution to mass murders like the ones we saw at Virginia Tech. Without bullets, Cho would’ve been stopped before he started.”

Only a Progressive Marxists Leftist would want to do something like that.
Your right that is exactly what Hitler and his gangs did in the thirties.
Hmmmm, Didn’t the Democrats adopt the same laws as the Nazi’s in 1964 regarding guns?

Actually all that would happen is RW II would be pushed forward.

And the tree of Liberty would be well refreshed. I hope it never comes to that, but fear it will, and probably sooner rather than later.

The gunbanners won’t have to search everything either. There are plenty of people out there who will turn you in.

good point. It something like this happened it would rip our Republic apart. It would be very messy. Without an armed citizenry, the left in America would not hesitant to impose a bloody dictatorship upon us. Stalin is a hero to the left in America.

I’m not depressed at all...I am very happy that I have my Smith & Wesson. The unhappy person will be anybody who tries to invade my property.

Proof that Obama was not raised in the Hood. Nor the Barrios or any middle class area close to those places.

Can you see them trying this in South Central LA or Texas for God's sakes?

They'll start small, against "obvious nutcases" such as the Alabama Free Militia. Oh wait, they already have. They've confiscated firearms in NOLA as well, even refusing to return them in the face of a court order to do so. Yet I don't see the Mayor or Police Chief of the Chocolate City being thrown into jail for violating the rights of the citizens under both the federal and Louisiana Constitutions.

It wouldnt be a secret for long and after the first 50 or so ‘special’ trained cops got their faces blown off (shotgun blast...) kicking in front doors the ‘special police’ would no longer be willing to carry out these ‘liberals’ hitlerine wishes.

I wouldnt doubt that soon those ‘liberals’ who perpetrated the action would themselves be swinging from lampposts.
Carrying that out wouldnt be done in secret or in the middle of the night or by anyone who has to be ‘specially trained’ AND likely would be assisted by the majority of policemen.

I suggest that the other ‘liberals’ slit that tards throat
for opening his stupid mouth and making such a stupid suggestion and moving all of them that much closer to their place up on those lampposts.

Looks like the Elian Gonzales kidnapping on the cover.

The book and cover predate that incident. UC was published in January 1996. Elian was grabbed by Jackboot Janet's minions on April 22, 2000.

Uniform is different, helmet is different, different firearm. Not so much like the Elian raid really.

The Congress that passed such a law and the president who signed and enforced it would be thrown out at the next election, and the politicians know it.

What next election?

“The civil war for this country would start at that point!”

It would hardly be a ‘civil war’, more like a long delayed cleansing of the leftist rot done with little more difficulty than your local exterminator eradicating a house’s termite infestation.

Sure you might have to rip some walls down, but they are easily rebuilt and it costs you less in the long term.

That's primarily due to the unprecedented increase in the market price of metals such as copper, zinc, and tin and the alloys that are made from them. I don't believe this has anything to do with the government making ammo more expensive or reducing the number of privately owned guns.

Not to mention that there are several significant wars going on. Much Military surplus is being shot up before it becomes surplus, mostly in training, but quite a bit in action as well. Less supply, higher demand, means higher prices.

Cartridges as well as bullets, powder and primers, are arms, within the meaning of the term in the Constitution. Sorry about that Snr. de Leon.

'68. Only some of the same laws. Including the infamous "sporting purposes" test that pretty much ignores the original intent of the second amendment.

[Barak Obama]: A desire to own a gun should, by itself, be considered prima facie evidence of mental illness.

I hope the GOP is taking notes now. I know the GOA and JPFO need to have this information forwarded to them.
