CLINTON SICK OVER DR. GIULIANI'S RX

April 29, 2007 -- SAN DIEGO - Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton yesterday blasted Republican presidential rival Rudy Giuliani's continuing criticism of the Democratic Party's health-care ambitions.

Republicans "are basically taking positions diametrically opposed to us," Clinton told a packed press conference following her speech at the California Democratic Party's convention.

"One of the candidates has called universal health care 'socialized medicine,' " she said, not mentioning Giuliani by name.

But it was clear to the crowd that her remarks were pointed at the ex-mayor's standard campaign statements that the private sector is best equipped to manage America's health care and that too much government involvement amounts to European-style socialized medicine.

Clinton's brief rip against Rudy was also aimed at Giuliani's criticism last week of Democratic leadership regarding the Iraq war.

"I . . . welcome . . . that . . . debate," Clinton told reporters, slowly enunciating each word.

"People have learned from the experience of the Bush administration and the Republican Congress what the differences are" between the Democratic and Republican parties, she said.

"We're tired of [Republicans] believing they can have a government of the few and by the few and for the few," she said.

Republicans "are basically taking positions diametrically opposed to us," ...

When Republicans stop doing this, America will definitely need a third party!

Edwards is a hoot.

What do his supporters think he’s going to do, give them a check from his personal account?

No, they think he is going to give them a check from OUR personal accounts. He doesn't even want to use his own money for his haircuts.

Will be interesting to watch him pick off the dem platforms on abortion rights, gay rights, gun control, amnesty, etc.

Because he has so few issues left to attack the Dems on, he will try to make up for by being especially aggressive and vocal on the remaining two -- national security and economic. The question is how is he going to defend himself from Republican fire during the primary debates.

Jim

This is part of what I mean when I say that Hillary is a socialist and Giuliani is not. Universal healthcare would be the biggest disaster to befall this nation since the Great Depression, maybe even bigger. The Great Depression only lasted 10 years.

Hillary:

"One of the candidates has called universal health care 'socialized medicine'..."

uhhhh.... Hillary, it IS socialized medicine. But now we at least know your priority and your strategy. You're going to push thru universal healthcare, and you're going to lie, lie, lie, all the way to your goal.

The Dem’s basic platform is to run against the War and shill for national health care. They fail to address the countless other problems this country faces because most of the problems are caused by the Dem base.No anti war candidate has ever won and rarely does a senator win. That’s a double whammy on most of their candidates.Everyone knows they plan to tax the hell out of “rich’ people to pay for the healthcare plan but the tin cup liberals in this country don’t care who pays for it as long as they don’t have to.We know most unemployed people in this country are part of the Dem base so they want all the freebies they can get.

All you have to do is look at Canada’s health care system and you’ll get an idea of what ours will become under the Dems plan. And guess who’ll pay for that. The taxpayer!!! Healthcare will become worse but then just about anything the dems want comes with a cost. Usually in money and death.

Any who do you think is going to pay for Rooty’s Universal healthcare and free schooling and welfare for every illegal alien that can sneak across the border?

Rooty found a previously unknown clause in the Constitution that guarantees every illegal the right to those benefits.

Hillary is bad enough with her socialism for every American, Rooty wants us to pay for the whole world!

I loved P.J. O’Rourke’s comment about Hillary, “She’s basically Hugo Chavez in pants suit.”

Those who want a free ride will vote for her. I have an inkling that the older and younger set don't agree. I've read that many in the middle-aged group like her ideas.
