Fact is there is no easy solution to Iran currently - Furthermore there is hardly even an adequate military solution......In that until Iraq is capable of defending itself (mainly internally) dealing with Iran in a direct shooting war could be very likely more trouble then it is worth....(I.E. gained benefits from doing such in the short term).

Lastly, when you have GOP base who at the drop of a hat will recklessly and foolishly put a few domestic issues above the WOT .....As they did in 06......You have even less real options when it comes to dealing with Iran.

The foolishly one issue voters in the GOP base blew it big time in 06.....They are as much to blame as is the DEMs for our current situation (politically and with Iran).

I am aware of the protests against the government. Protests that are quickly quelled and G-d knows what happens to the participants. Iran is being propped-up by countries that have a vested interest in keeping the current regime in power. Besides, the regime stared down a major western power and won. Europe did squat as did the US. A lot of Iranians saw this as a national victory.

I did not always have this attitude, but the West’s own innaction and inattention have caused me to be pessimistic.

Thank you.

That is the best explanation yet for what happens with an EFP.

This POTUS couldn't get this CONGRESS to declare war on IRAN if they hit us with a NUKE tomorrow.

Politically he might as well be in a coma.

Secretary of State Pelosi has not yet had an opportunity to work her magic in the realm of diplomacy. We must be patient, and not do anything to alarm the peace-seeking Iranian mullahs, to make them fear that we might mean to do them harm.

Would not the metal appear to act in a more ductile state if it is inside of a high pressure wave? Maybe the phase shift does not occur under such conditions so that it can have both solid and liquid properties.

“I did not always have this attitude, but the West’s own innaction and inattention have caused me to be pessimistic.”

Flame away....BUT(monkey)...what gives me major pause in going after Iran right now is Israel’s poor performance in Lebanon last year when the stakes were high and the implicit go-ahead was given by the US!

Israel failed to do what needed to be done at the time. Blame it on a weak government, etc.....but if Israel can not defend itself like they have always done...the US can not defend Israel.

If the US elects a democrat in 2008....Israel is doomed.(unless they understand what is at stake). In fact, I would venture that the entire WEST(USA included) is doomed if the Democrats are elected.

Frankly, I say that unless the rest of the world wakes up and defends themselves against this Islamist fascism..let them go the way that weak people go...(to the enemy).

I am tired of my tax dollars going to protect France..while the French do nothing but sit on their asses and make fun of our country!!

Someone needs to ask one of the candidates for Prez(Republicans or Demonrats)..should the US protect the entire world while they sit on their asses and do nothing?

The problem is not that "we" aren't doing anything about it. We are arresting people as we find them, etc. What more can we do? The problem is that Iraq isn't doing anything about it.

Iran, a neighbor state of Iraq, is allowing weapons smuggling, and "training" killers, to infiltrate into Iraq to murder civilians.

This is an act of war. Iran is waging war against Iraq. Iraq is not acting like they recognize this. That is the real problem.

What would be your war plan? Superficially of course since I recognize you’re not either a career military officer and have not been immersed in war fighting and logistics plans. But just a simple outline of how we engage Iran to indicate that you have something more to say than the present day analog of those folks who drove their buggies from Washington to watch the first battle of Bull Run. If merely cheerleading is the plan, perhaps we should gain some insight to the opposing forces, geography, topography, available means of resupply, and the other criteria of war fighting—not to mentions whether we have any forces left to engage in such a conflict after the debacle we’re experiencing now.

"Problem is, we continue to receive reports like this over and over again, our troops risk their lives to capture these iranian forces and.......we don't do anything about it except have a press conference, take post a few jpegs of he weapons, and then its off to hump another patrol. Something is broken here, or maybe we are just lacking the 'will' when it comes to Iran."

Absolutely correct. Imagine if WWII were fought like this?

'We are getting more reports that confirm Berlin and Tokyo are the sources for fighter planes that keep bombing cities all over Europe and the Far East. The debate continues in Washington and London whether the Allies should attack those Axis capitals for fear of reprisals ....'

Hola!

Frankly, that is the scenario that I see. The Dems have convinced the majority of people that Bush “faked” evidence for the Iraq invasion and they spin the meme that we just need to “establish dialogue” with Iran. When Bush speaks of Iran’s nukes, the reaction, thanks to the Dems and the Media, is “he is just lying like he did about Iraq’s WMDs.” People will not really believe that Iran is a threat until they nuke someone. At that point, the West may react.

“The Islamic fascists are emboldened by what they see as a lack of resolve. “

The same way they view us. Not that we haven’t gone out of our way to prove them right for the last 27 years or anything.

True, it is not molten. But water ‘projectiles’ can penetrate 1 cm of steel according to the article below.

Excellent article with details. Maybe too many details.

— we don’t do anything about it —

Evidently it’s not the top mullahs that are guilty here.
It’s Ayatolliver Northzadeh and his dastardly rogue gang, running a covert operation from the Qom Palace basement/sark
