Good idea with unlimited power hit squads.
We go send this retired Ambassador in charge of a special squad of police with unlimited powers to the southern border to go and disarm illegals entering this country with their freight of drugs, illegitimacy, and more poverty.
A Toledo Blade reporter, protected with bullet proof vest to assure ongoing reporting, will act as independent witness to assure that this retired Ambassador and Toledo Blade’s editorial member finds immediate and accurate reflection in the Blade.
And such characters as this former Ambassador masquerade as contributors on editorial boards informing Blade readers.

As I am reading this, I am thinking that suppose for one moment he was able to do this. What does he suppose would happen to the economy as millions of citizens are fined and imprisoned? Are you sure he was not attempting to write satire? His ideas are incredibly unachievable.

That was exactly the picture I had in mind.
Of course, not all 80 million would resist. But if only 1% did, there’d be a civil war - and the Dan Simpsons would lose. Look what a couple of miscreant morons did in the DC area a few years back - what would 800,000 better-armed, better-trained, better-supported and more highly motivated people be able to do? Let’s see how the coasts would feed themselves and keep warm when truckers would either refuse to help them or be afraid to travel on the roads.
