COLLINSVILLE, Ala. — Federal agents and state investigators arrested five men during a series of raids in northeast Alabama early Thursday as part of an effort to bust an explosives sales ring being run by an as-yet-unidentified local militia group, FOX News has learned.

At least five bomb teams were on the scene in case explosives were found during the searches.

Eric Kehn, a spokesman with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosive, said the action "involves weapons and things along those lines," but declined to elaborate.

The five were arrested on federal warrants and agents had four search warrants, Kehn said.

One of the raids in Collinsville was at a trailer and another was at a nearby house about a quarter-mile from Collinsville School. School officials said they decided to cancel classes for about 650 students from grades kindergarten through 12 because of the swarm of police vehicles

“the people arrested were involved in manufacturing of homemade hand grenades, which they then sold to undercover federal agents.”

Dumb criminals.

Northeast Alabama... isn’t that where Malveaux/Mohammed trained? The Snipers?

IIRC, Malvo and Mohammad killed a female outside a liquor store in Montgomery. I believe they trained in Oregon or Washington state where bullets were found in a tree stump.

Nope. That was at a isolated area of South Central Alabama. NE Alabama is the Reddest part of the State. This is most likely some wild crackers. I ought to know as I use to live there. It was a great place overall. Nary a Lib for miles.

I’d take anything F-Troop says with a grain of salt. The Feds have a way of manufacturing criminals and evidence when they want to make a political point.

That statement brings to mind .25 cal. pistols and brass knucks.

The camp they trained at, “Camp Zero”, was in Alabama.

Interesting to put that in the first paragraph. Wonder if the feds are starting their militia witch hunts again.

Exactly. And ATF and Mr. Gonzales are always in the forefront of trumped up evidence - unless this “militia” group is linked to Islam.

But then they probably wouldn’t have targeted them, would they?

From a number of the posts on this thread, I take it home-grown terrorists are cool while Muslim ones are bad.

I’m wondering how many nuts on here would be so supportive if this guy lived next to them.
