The abortion issue will never go away, and Giuliani cannot wish it away or pronounce it over. Abortion will always be wrong, those who value life will always fight to eliminate it, it will always be a scourge on this nation and the world.

What is changing is the way we fight abortion. We may have to adopt an incrementalism that chips away slowly for a time, until we can get the whole thing to crumble. We also must sacrifice much more of our private money to care for mothers who need help during pregnancy, and who do not know what they want to do with their children.

Even then, people will get illegal abortions, but they will be lawbreakers.

"get beyond" pro-life issues

Why is it us that need to "get beyond" pro-life issues?

Why doesn't he get over his obsession with the convenience killing of the most innocent and the most vulnerable among us.

Regards.

Rudy has a flip attitude toward issues vital to conservatives. His comments are dismissive and insulting. As a politician he knows better. If he does not care enough to even present himself in a sympathetic manner, he is certain to run over people when elected.

Would I vote for him over HRC or Obama? Yes I would, but I don't see how he gets the nomination with his record and the way he is presenting himself. His polls are high because people are not really paying attention yet.

Giuliani Outrages Conservatives With "Get Beyond" Abortion Snipe

Every single one of us standing has "gotten beyond abortion".

It's the little ones we want to help now.

Even Democrat supporters would agree on a high threshold for abortion,
elected Democrats are the problem.

I would vote for Rudy over the pantsuit or the emptysuit if I were forced to vote. I am, however, not forced to vote, and would choose none of the above. The final result will be the same and by 2012 a 2008 victory for “our side” will be cold comfort when the demographics have changed in such away as to make a conservative POTUS nearly impossible. In my opinion, so far, there is only one real choice, someone who will put political correctness and multiculturalism aside and enforce our existing immigration laws, fight terror (without our hands tied behind our backs), put the ChiComs on notice and deal a major blow to Roe vs Wade. No, I don’t mean Rudy McRomney, or that we need to unpack an actor out of mothballs or waste time salivating over any other future “fantasy Candidate”. We already have a man who will do all that is needed and more, Duncan Hunter.

The GOP now needs to get beyond his bid for the nomination.

""Our party has to get beyond issues like that," said Giuliani in response to a questioner's fear that abortion is dividing the party."

And there's your daisy bomb ad Hillary's folks and Moveon.org will be running should Mayor Giuliani win the Republican nomination.

Rudy runs against conservatives and yet so many so called conservatives rabidly support him. Go figure.

It’s amazing. Driven by fear most likely. It is apparent to me that many have no core values that they feel worth fighting for. I for one believe we must begin the process of ousting Rudy from contention. I refuse to accept a lesser of two evils (rudy hillary) so early in the game. Rudy must go. Either this is a conservative site or it is a site for the log cabin republican types to push the GOP party to the left. I say let’s move it right! Now.
