NEW YORK (AP) -- It looks like a cause for celebration: The Dow Jones industrial average surged from 12,000 to 13,000 in just six months. But appearances can be deceiving, and there may be more reason to worry rather than rejoice about Wall Street's latest accomplishment.
Stronger-than-expected profits from several large companies helped push the stock market to historic heights. But

No your not being harsh. During the adulterers presidency the media would be rolling out joker after joker telling us the DOW will soon reach 30,000.I agree, not harsh at all. Remember the gushing, over-flowing MSM adulation when the Dow hit 8000 with rumors of it getting to 10 and even 11 (which it did go to 10 during Clintoons reign)? The MSM were practically orgasmic, with the usual adulations of how Slick Willy 'fixed' the economy and erased the deficit and we were in for booming times. I was waiting for them to break into a rendition of 'Happy Days are Here Again'.
Now? Cue crickets and tumbleweeds... But then, the MSM are doing what their dark masters pay them to do...

Maybe I am being too harsh, but they just can not report good economic news during a Republican administration

25 lb of gold is worth about $205,620. Hardly enough to retire on for 250 years, Laz. Dont quit your day job.True, but I plan to invest in Microsoft in the year 1977.
So there.

Although the Dow hit new highs today, some say women and children are eating out of dumpsters, while others report that old people are choosing between medicine and Purina dog chow, and New Orleans needs more school buses to evacuate crippled veterans and grandmothers before the worst hurricane season in history devastates the city tomorrow.

Try also United Health Group(UNH:NYSE) in 1976. It’s gone up 29,000% since then.

The extent to which the Associated Press by which I mean virtually every single person who works there in a news-gathering, reporting, or editorial position serves as a willfully dishonest propaganda organ for the liberal agenda is becoming one of the biggest dangers we face as a nation. With very few exceptions, every newspaper in the country relies on the AP for its national and international coverage. Which means that the vast majority of Americans are dependent on these partisan liars for almost everything they know about national and international events. How can a self-governing people make sensible decisions when the major source of 'news' in the country is composed of one-sided political partisans who don't just slant the news, but who regularly stoop to lying and outright fabrication in pursuit of their propaganda objectives? The solution is ridicule.
You and I are good at it. We should join forces and ridicule them until they are the laughingstock of the world.
Well, more so, anyways.

If the unemployment rate went to 0.0001 percent, the NY TIMES headline would read:

The chattering classes have been trying to talk down the economy ever since Bush was elected, but there’s only so much they can do. The productive classes continue to grow the economy, in spite of their best efforts.

The Dow's latest achievement did not come without setbacks and volatility -- the index lost 416 points in a single session on Feb. 27 amid fears that the U.S. economy would fall into recession and that China's economy would slow as well.
And I jumped in and invested the rest of the cash I had sitting on the sidelines at that sweet sweet buying opportunity.....

Funny thing was, the article was using statistics from the third quarter of 92 - before Clinton was elected. If I remember right, that would have been during the "worst economy in 50 years" the press and Perot pushed to help get Clinton elected.

But appearances can be deceiving, and there may be more reason to worry rather than rejoice about Wall Street's latest accomplishment. I don't understand why the MSM still can maintain profitability when they are so predictable with their perpetual drone of doom and gloom.
Are we all that stupid as a whole?
The MSM could find a full glass of water in a waterless desert while dieing of thirst and toss the water away because the glass is too heavy to carry when full.
