The Other Big Story This Week (Cheerleading for Hillary on Abortion "Rights")
Newsweek ^ | April 20, 2007 | Eleanor Clift

It was buried in the avalanche of coverage of the horrible shootings at Virginia Tech. But the Supreme Court's partial-birth ruling will likely have a much bigger impact on Campaign.

The human toll is unfathomable. And the heartfelt debate triggered by the slaughter at Virginia Tech—over why America allows such easy access to guns, and how best to determine when a troubled student might turn into a psychopath—will rage on for years. But as a political matter, the killings in Blacksburg, Va., will likely have little impact—on the presidential campaign of 2008, at least. That race will, however, be affected by another story in the news this week, albeit one overshadowed by the campus massacre. The Supreme Court’s 5-4 ruling banning a particular late-term-abortion procedure put the partisan divide in this country in sharp relief: Every major Democratic contender denounced the decision. Every major Republican contender applauded it.

Will the pro-choice community be galvanized, as it was in the early ‘90s? Will the Republican right, emboldened by the ruling, push a flurry of further restrictions on abortion? If so, Democrats generally—and Hillary Clinton in particular—will benefit. Clinton wasted little time condemning the decision on her Web site, calling it “a fundamental attack on a woman’s right to choose and a dramatic departure from decades of policy that put our rights and our health first.”

Abortion is the sing1e biggest net gain issue the GOP has, giving the GOP a net of 7 points over the Dems. The peop1e who vote this is the sing1e issue most1y vote GOP. Beside 70 percent support the PBA ban.

Eleanor Clift is whistling past the graveyard (literally) and she knows it (or she’s delusional).

Rush named her well in those same early '90s:  Eleanor Rodham Clift.

I just have to wonder what would happen to any woman if say one day she woke up and decided “hmm, I made a mistake 15 years ago, I really don’t want the responsibility of raising this child anymore, and he really doesn’t fit in with my lifestyle so I think I’ll just go kill him”.....

What’s the difference between that scenario and abortion of any kind? What’s the difference between a woman who drowns her children and those who abort?

IMHO there is not difference. It all leads to the same point - killing an innocent.

The pro-abortion crowd is the same crowd trying to get at our children - teach them homosexuality is okay, teach them there are no consequences for your actions... get pregnant, that’s okay, just go get an abortion... so long as it makes you happy, just do it.
