Rudy is a liberal wolf in conservative clothing.
Perhaps if he's only wearing a pair of womens thong panties.

I’m more conservative than Giuliani, but I support him anyway at this point. He’s the most conservative candidate that has a good shot at winning. Also, he won’t wimp out because of whithering attacks from the left.
If Fred Thompson enters the race, I may reevaluate my views. But at this point, I look at the candidates and come to a few conclusions:
1. McCain likes to look good in the media, so he will probably pull a David Souter if elected.
2. Romney is probably more liberal than Giuliani.
3. No other Republican currently running has a good shot at winning.
I don’t think Mr. Robinson will ban me for that honest opinion.

Well now you're in FR hell.
And I'll clog this thread up with useless graphics.

I love this:
of fighting the enemy FR is now imposing an 'ideological purity' test on FR members
So, if this means anything, it means (A) you believe there is an enemy, but (B) you do not believe in identifying him by ideology.
Hm.
So, what does that leave? Skin-color? Sex? Income? Weight?

Quite frankly, you and your fellow red-meaters are frikken
NUTS for putting all your eggs into one basket this early in the election cycle. The election is in November of 2008---more than 18 months away---which is at least six different lifetimes in this hyper media age.
I'm skeptical of anyone who supports a candidate with such vigor this early in the race---it makes me think that person has a vested interest in the outcome (wink wink, nudge nudge). Because as we all know, retail politics is complete bullsh*t.

Al, I agree with you!
So many conservatives need to have their whole package - but, in modern politics, that’s never going to happen.
So, these narrowly focused conservatives have an opportunity to:
1) sit out elections
2) vote for the democrat nominee
3) vote for the republican nominee
4) or, divide the non-democrat voting population, to assure that a RAT gets elected, ala Perot for Clintoon.
All this talk that’s directed to abortion, religion, flat tax is not the real issue!

The real issue is which presidential individual will not be cowering like a baby under his Oval Office desk, once the jihadists decide that little Mohammed’s bomb belt is not destructive enough, and decide to drop a nuc on civilization!
In that context, Rudy holds up pretty well!

Rmember the character from Saturday night live, Andrgynous Pat. Maybe there will be a candidate like...er...it. Then we wouldn't have to worry about which we were voting for. We would always just wonder!

I was for Rudy until I started learning about what his views are. I liked him, until I became 'acquainted' with him.
Once the "Hero of 9-11" facade was peeled away, to get look behind it, the rest of the structure got condemned by the Building Department.

who gradually drifted off to la-la land, losing all credibility - and readership - in the process.FR is still a place where we can freely exchange ideas and political view. No one is in "la-la land", and Jim has lost neither credibility, nor readers, especially not ALL, as you put it.
There are many Rudy supporters on this forum, just as there are many ideas and opinions about many issues. You're throwing a tantrum because Jim R. has a different opinion than you do. Grow up.
