Al, I agree with you!

So many conservatives need to have their whole package - but, in modern politics, that’s never going to happen.

So, these narrowly focused conservatives have an opportunity to:
1) sit out elections
2) vote for the democrat nominee
3) vote for the republican nominee
4) or, divide the non-democrat voting population, to assure that a RAT gets elected, ala Perot for Clintoon.

All this talk that’s directed to abortion, religion, flat tax is not the real issue!

In that context, Rudy holds up pretty well!

I agree with aShepard. If we conservatives want to make a difference we have two realistic options: Vote for the Republican candidate or not vote at all and let the DemonRats win elections.

Rudy may not be a conservative, but he is conservative enough for me to vote for him if he’s the Republican nominee: war on terror, cutting taxes, appointing original-intent judges, and moving contentitious social issues away from spurious consititutional “rights” to legislative processes at the state level. Plus the guy has true leadership grit. If it comes to a showdown between Rudy and Hillary, I am not willing to turn the country over to the Hildebeast by not voting for Rudy.

I love FR and hope Al Simmons doesn’t get banned. As someone said, “The Left looks for heretics, and the Right looks for converts.” Plus the Right has far and away the best sense of humor, particularly on dispaly here at FR (with a special thanks to all the hilariously terrific photoshoppers!)

Abortion is an issue, throw in the RKBA, the war on terror, the idea that somehow people of the same sex shouldn't be legally "married", and immigration as well.

That first amendment thingy precluded the establishment of a state religion.

If you think controlling the borders isn't essential to Homeland security, try playing Age of Empires and not controlling your borders. You will lose every time.

Without the RKBA, we, as individuals are powerless to stop any act of terror, regardless of source, which occurs within our purview. Bad enough we have designated victim zones without making the entire nation into one.

The real issue is which presidential individual will not be cowering like a baby under his Oval Office desk, once the jihadists decide that little Mohammed’s bomb belt is not destructive enough, and decide to drop a nuc on civilization!

Cowering under the desk? Most would have their butt out of D.C. so fast you'd think they disapeared. In all fairness, I believe that evacuation is part of the standard operational plan. That is why the 'football' exists--so we can respond in the event of a large scale attack while the evac is going on.

Chances are a nuke wouldn't be dropped either, but smuggled in and assembled, if it isn't detonated on the transport.

In that context, Rudy holds up pretty well!

As evidenced by what? His military service? nope. Giving the Saudis their measly 10 million back? uh-uh--especially when he knew there would be lots more coming in from both government and private sources.

He even allegedly informed one of his former wives of the coming divorce in a press release instead of face to face. Some courage.

We have other, more conservative candidates who are going to suck up to the jihadis or cower under attack?

Gimmie a break, willya?

Maybe the jihadis will just look at the images of him in drag and laugh all the way to the rockpile to stone him for not wearing a burqa?

(Those images were recently cited by a liberal friend who said they could not vote for a cross dresser, no matter how much they liked his platform---and that speaks volumes abou Rudy.)

How come during the Clinton candidacies we could repeat "Character counts!" and now that seems to be a nevermind?

It still counts, and a victory for Guiliani might be a victory for the Republican party, or what will be left of it, but it will not be a victory for Conservatives or America.

Who was the coward that folded and ran away in the face of Hillary in 2000?

You are putting up a strawman. With the exception of the traitorous Ron Paul, there is not a single GOP candidate—NOT ONE—who will lay down for the Islamofascists. To pretend Rudy is alone on that is insulting to the intelligence of every conservative.
