Thank God President Bush removed this regime from the face of the earth. I don’t even want to imagine what would have happened if Saddam remained in Power ‘til death, and were to be followed by Uday or Qusai, who were either certifiable lunatics, psychopaths or madmen.

Exactly, Saddam Sons would have made the world a much darker place if they would have stayed in power.

Thank you for all your work, jveritas!

And here's a link to the Weekly Standard piece for anyone who missed it...

"Blessed July" One of the Saddam documents details orders for an extensive terrorist operation.

“The translation below was made by the Pentagon translator(s) and the translated document was posted on the FMSO Iraqi documents website before it was unfortunately shut down on November 2nd 2006. Fortunately I was able to download it and save it before the website shut down”

Surely most of those documents got downloaded and saved somewhere. Kind of a slick move on the part of the government, now they can say, “we shut it down” when it’s likely most of the docs are floating around the web somewhere.

That’s how you appease both sides.

That’s how you keep the peons occupied.

So this information gets buried while the Democrats cluck endlessly about what a pointless war this was. Are there any remaining pro-war Republicans in Congress who would care to read this into the Congressional Record?

They shut down the web site? Why on earth would they do that?

I thought the initial documents were just the tip of the iceberg anyway?

Thanks, J! People forget that the biggest pre-invasion threat posed by Iraq IMHO was a conventional attack aimed at the US or US interests.

As Saddam said throughout the 90s (and always ignored by MSM), "The Mother of All Battles is not over."

Good to see you translating again j.

But we all know Saddam had no ties to terrorism.

Nancy Pelosi said so.

This is axiomatically untrue because Saddam was "secular" and terrorists are "religious". Everyone knows that. Also, Saddam 'wouldn't want to' work with terrorists, so even if there is evidence that he did, we can discount it because he 'wouldn't want to'. Further, Saddam was (at root) self-interested, and he knew that if he engaged in any terrorism he'd get in trouble, therefore he 'wouldn't want to' - so even if there is evidence that he wanted to, I still say he 'wouldn't want to'.

Finally, so what if Saddam planned a little bit of terrorism. Saddam was an Arab/Muslim. Are you a racist or something? Plus we probably did something to tick him off anyway. Or Europe did. Or whoever he was planning to target. He had a right to be ticked off at whatever it is that we/Europe did. Plus he's an Arab, so you expect him to engage in no terrorism whatsoever? So naive. You just don't know anything Arab culture, I guess. Ignorant boob. Learn something about the world next time before you comment.
